Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why should I consider the HEAROS products?
A: The HEAROS products were introduced because there was a void in the marketplace for a high quality, branded line of ear products. Whether you have a need for noise reduction (sleeping, studying, traveling), hearing protection (concerts, target practice) or water protection (swimming, surfing), the HEAROS line has a high quality product that can work for you.
Q: Which HEAROS product is best for me?
A: It depends on your intended use. For noise reduction and hearing protection needs, the neutral colored disposable foam found in the HEAROS, SuperHEAROS, Value Pack HEAROS and Super Value Pack HEAROS products are perfect. Additionally, Rock 'N Roll HEAROS is effective for all noise reduction and hearing protection needs. And as the name implies, AquaHEAROS was designed for all water protection needs.
Q: What is the NRR (Noise Reduction Rating)?
A: Similar to sun tan lotion's SPF or Sun Protection Factor, the NRR tells you how many decibels you can expect the products to reduce (when wearing the product properly). For example, let's say that you are attending a concert where the sound is 120 decibels. When you wear HEAROS disposable foam product with a NRR of 30 dB, you can expect the sound level entering your ear to be 90 dB (120-30=90).
Q: Is it possible to block out all noise?
A: Your hearing is sensitive and powerful and therefore it is virtually impossible to block out all noise. You will notice that none of the HEAROS products are referred to as "ear plugs." Hearos believes "ear filters" is more appropriate because their products will not "plug your hearing," they will simply filter out potentially damaging and annoying sounds.
Q: How do I prevent the product from falling out of my ear?
A: Believe it or not, there is a learning curve for getting a proper fit with ear protection products. We recommend that you follow the instructions exactly as they are stated on the back of each product.
Tips: The neutral foam products require that you "roll" not "twist" the entire ear filter prior to insertion. Also, make sure that you remember to "lift up" your ear using the opposite hand of the ear canal you wish to insert the product in.
