Nature's One Baby’s Only Organic Soy Formula The Only Soy Formula Free of Corn Syrup
Organic Soy Formula
Natures One Baby’s Only Organic offers a soy-based formula that is lactose and dairy free and appropriate when parents prefer a vegetarian diet or when a baby suffers from the genetic disorder galactosemia. This formula is made with only non-GMO whole soybeans and is the only soy formula on the market that contains organic brown rice syrup instead of corn syrup as its source of carbohydrate. Baby’s Only Organic is scientifically formulated to meet the nutritional needs of a healthy, growing baby. Introduced in 2000, Baby’s Only Organic was the first organic soy formula available to the U.S. market.
Both Goat and Cow milk contain dairy protein and lactose. A baby with dairy protein or lactose sensitivities may experience unusual fussiness, excessive spit-up, skin rash/eczema, gassiness or frequent ear infections. If your baby exhibits any of these symptoms, discuss using Baby’s Only Organic SOY Toddler Formula with a health care professional. Baby’s Only Organic SOY formula contains alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and linoleic acid (LA), the fatty acid precursors for Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and Arachidonic acid (ARA). DHA and ARA have been clinically shown to support mental and visual development by concentrating in the gray matter of the brain and in the retina of the eye. Baby’s Only Organic is scientifically formulated to provide the necessary nutrients supporting normal growth and development, including essential fatty acids.
Baby’s Only Organic SOY is the only non-dairy pediatric formula made with organic ingredients. Organic is your assurance the ingredients are not processed with harsh chemicals or genetically modified. Furthermore, Baby’s Only Organic does not contain harsh chemically treated carbohydrate like corn syrup or sucrose.
Quality Organic Nutrition
Nature’s One recognizes the importance of providing your baby with the highest quality formula possible. Our company sets its ingredient standard beyond “organic” by sourcing only the best organic ingredients. Parents should be aware that other organic formulas use less desirable ingredients like organic corn syrup, organic palm olein oil and hexane processed DHA. Rest assured that Baby’s Only Organic will never contain these ingredients.
The Best Organic Start
Breast milk is the best organic choice. Baby’s Only Organic is labeled a toddler formula to promote breast milk as the best first option. Following breast milk, parents can continue providing organic nutrition using Baby’s Only Organic formula. For a baby less than 12-months, use as directed by a healthcare professional.
Nutrients Needed in your Baby’s Diet
Baby’s Only Organic Soy Formula uses whole organic soybeans. Other soy formulas use soy protein isolates made by chemically removing all of the naturally occurring components of the soybean except the protein, manganese, and phytoestrogens. In fact, if an organic soybean was chemically converted into a “soy isolate,” it would no longer qualify as organic. For that reason, Nature’s One developed a process that naturally achieves the same result while maintaining the nutritional balance and harmony of the soybean as nature intended. We believe this provides balance among all the vitamins and minerals naturally found in our soy formula.
The Cornucopia Institute gave Nature’s One an “excellent” or a “4 soybean rating” for Baby's Only Organic Soy Formula. Learn more at Cornucopia Institute Soy Scorecard
Nature's One organic commitment assures only organic and natural ingredients with no artificial flavors, sweeteners, colors, genetically modified ingredients, chemical processing like hexane solvents, pesticides or added growth hormones. Baby's Only Organic formulas are manufactured in the U.S.A. and no milk protein or dairy derivatives are purchased from China.
Why use a Soy formula?
There are many reasons that necessitate the use of a soy formula. Often times, parents wish to avoid any animal products in their child's diet. At other times, a cow or goat milk allergy/sensitivity may be present. In those instances, soy formula is utilized and has been proven to be beneficial in supporting proper growth and development in these young children.
Cow Milk allergy or intolerance is a common reason that a health care professional may recommend use of a soy formula. A baby may be allergic to cow milk protein and/or sensitive to cow milk lactose. (It has been clinically evidenced that when a baby demonstrates sensitivity to cow milk based formula, she will most likely also be sensitive to goat milk).
Signs of milk sensitivity or allergy include: excessive fussiness, irritability, excessive spitting-up, gassiness or constipation. Symptoms may also include a "reaction" such as skin rash, eczema, or diarrhea. Some research strongly suggests that a higher incidence of ear infections is also attributable, in part, to cow/goat dairy consumption. If your child is experiencing any or all of these symptoms, a discussion with your health care professional about possible cow/goat milk allergies or sensitivities in your child would be beneficial.
What is the difference between Whole Soybeans and Soy Isolates?
Baby's Only Organic derives its organic soy protein concentrate from the whole soybean. Other formulas use soy protein isolates which chemically removes all the naturally occurring components of the soybean except the protein, manganese and phytoestrogens. Baby's Only Organic™ SOY retains the natural benefits of the whole soybean as nature intended. We believe this provides balance among all the vitamins and minerals naturally found in our SOY formula. In fact, at a recent (May, 2007) conference on Diet and Optimal Health sponsored by the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University, Professor William Helferich stated “when the whole food (referring to the whole soybean) is consumed, you get a very different effect than if you consume the concentrated constituents individually.” He further noted that the whole soybean is healthier than many of its individual components. In other words, the whole soybean provides healthier nutrition than when consuming concentrated components of the soybean, such as phytoestrogens.
Does the soy protein have Raffinose and Stachyose?
Nature’s One has a production method that naturally breaks down these two sugars so that they are easily digested. Unlike soy protein isolation processes that chemically strip the soybean of many of its naturally occurring benefits, the process used by Nature’s One retains the balance of the soymilk as nature intended.
Nature’s One introduced the first organic baby formula over a decade ago. Since that time, the company has established an excellent reputation among parents & healthcare professionals and continues to be the leader in organic pediatric medical foods.
