Why Soy Wax?
Soy wax candles burn cooler so they burn longer. No soot! No kidding. And, they clean up with soap and water. (So, this container gets a second life!) And soy is a biodegradable product. Nice for you, your homes, and the environment.
Christian Maser is Gretchen; Gretchen Christina Maser. Actually, Gretchen Christina Hoffmayer Maser. Collectively that's more letters than the alphabet! Her father calls her Chris; her husband calls her Gretchen. She answers to both.
The Christina Maser Story
The tale is too long to tell, so here's the short version! It all started somewhere around 1990 when a friend of Gretchen's (aka, Christina) taught her to make jam! Thinking back to that first batch of strawberry jam... Wow! Who knew?! So, jam making indirectly led to gardening, which somehow led to soap making, which inevitably led to candle making! It wasn't really that quick or simple, but however many years later, here they are with three different, yet clearly related product lines.
What You Need To Know About What They Make
Basically, they keep it basic. They keep it real. Clean. Simple. Natural. They could keep going but you get the point. Whether they're crafting a candle or making the soap for your morning shower, they choose their ingredients carefully, and for lots of different reasons. They care about the impact their products have, not only on you, but in your home. They care about what can and can't be reused, and what ends up in the trash. They also really care about where their ingredients come from. Top priority is that they come from THIS country. Just a smidge under that priority is that their ingredients be as local as possible, or at the very least, that they spend their money as close to home as possible.
Something else they're pretty fussy about is HOW they make their products. They guarantee, without a shadow of a doubt, that every product they produce is crafted with real, human hands. Fact. The most sophisticated pieces of equipment they use are mixers and stick blenders. Everything they do, they do in small batches so that nothing gets 'out of hand'.
The Ingredients They Use
They use natural and some organic ingredients. Only food grade oils, salts, grains, and herbs, natural clays, Shea butter, pure essential oils, and the list goes on. Nothing synthetic and nothing petroleum based. They don't test anything on animals, nor do they buy any ingredients that are tested on animals. They reuse and recycle anything feasible, so they don't currently have boxes with their name stamped all over them.
So... of all products, why should you use theirs?
- Every product is hand-made
- Their products are all natural
- Their soy wax candles are pure vegetable wax
- Their bath and body products are planet friendly
- And almost all their containers can be reused
