Canus - Goat's Milk Bar Soap Fragrance Free - 5 oz. (141g)
Discover Canus Goat Milk Soap Benefits for Yourself

Feeling fresh and clean shouldn’t also make you dry, flaky, and uncomfortable. That’s why it is important to use products like Canus’ goat’s milk soap bar. Formulated to be free of any added fragrances, this bar boasts a number of goat milk soap benefits. The rich emollients found within goat milk help to preserve the natural oils of the skin, so you never have to worry about feeling dry or flaky. Plus, added ingredients like retinol, niacin, zinc, potassium, and selenium help to make your skin soft and supple after each use! Not a bad way to stay fresh!

Goat Milk Gives a Deep Clean
Goat milk is said to contain a specific type of lactic acid that provides a deep clean to the skin. On top of this, goat milk acts like an emollient. This means it is easily absorbed by the skin and forms a “moisture barrier” on the surface, helping to keep the skin healthy and protected. The soap also contains other useful compounds like fatty acids, which help to hydrate and moisturize the skin. If you’re tired of feeling dry after washing your skin, Canus goat milk soap may be the answer!

Keep Your Skin Free of Acne
A lot of people wonder is goat milk soap good for acne. According to research, goat milk might be a lifesaver when it comes to people dealing with acne. Goat milk soap is antibacterial and contains proteins that help to enhance the soap’s anti-microbial properties. This eliminates the bacteria on the skin that is known to cause acne. What’s more, goat milk soap may help treat existing acne and blemishes to create a smoother, more even skin tone.

The Story of Canus: Merging Canada and the USA
Canus was founded in 1991 by Andre Beauregard, who decided to name the country “Canus” as an amalgamation of Canada and USA, where he aimed to sell his products. Over the years, Beauregard experimented with selling a range of items from aromatherapy candles to incense, until he learned about the power of goat’s milk. Seizing the opportunity, he began formulating a unique line of goat’s milk personal care products that steadily grew in popularity. Today, Canus is all about nourishing the world through their quality skin care products. The company sources the goat milk for its unique personal care products from dairy milk producers who Canus works closely with.

    Canus is Dedicated to Community
Community involvement is incredibly important to Canus and its many employees. The company has been working closely with the Ronald McDonald House since 2012. This charity provides temporary housing to sick children and their families when they are being treated at nearby hospitals. Canus provides these houses with fresh goat’s milk skincare products . Items like their Li’l Goat’s Baby Wipes prove invaluable to families who are going through a difficult time and simply need a little bit of kindness while they deal with the medical needs of their families. This is one of many ways Canus gives back to local communities and enacts positive change.

Canus Goat's Milk Bar Soap Fragrance Free contains a unique protein structure, along with capric and caprylic acids, which allows the milk's rich emollients to be absorbed without stripping away your skin's natural protective oils. That's why your skin will feel not only clean, but soft and supple every time you use it. Like all of their soaps, this bar has a pure vegetable base, is dermatologist tested, phosphate free, and biodegradable.

    • Does not contain phosphates, parabens or EDTA
    • Free of dyes and colorants
    • Contains mild ingredients that purify the skin without affecting its natural moisture barrier
    • Also contains moisturizing fatty acids, vitamins A (retinol) and B3 (niacin), potassium, zinc and selenium
    • Finished product not tested on animals
    • Made in Canada

The Benefits of Fresh Goat's Milk
Rich in proteins, vitamins and minerals, fresh goat's milk is Mother Nature's greatest contribution to health and beauty. Working closely with the goats, Canus is constantly developing new ways to use their magical milk to nourish a healthier, softer, more natural world.

The beauty of fresh goat's milk, explained.
Ever since Cleopatra filled her bathtub with it and jumped in, fresh goat's milk has been revered for its superior moisturizing properties.

Little did La Belle Cleo know that the reason fresh goat's milk left her skin feeling silky smooth and supple was because of its unique protein structure.

Shorter protein strands allow for easy absorption. A whole host of natural minerals and vitamins in fresh goat's milk are absorbed right along with all that protein, helping to nourish healthy skin and heal the rough patches.

Fresh goat's milk also contains capric and caprilic acids that naturally balance the alkalinity of their products so that it more closely matches the ideal alkalinity level of the human epidermis.

This keeps skin and hair from being "stripped" of their natural moisture - a common problem with regular commercial soaps and shampoos. Of course, their mission at Canus is to take what they know works and make it work even better. they're constantly researching and developing new, all-natural fresh goat's milk lotions and soaps formulated with the additional benefits of natural oils and botanicals like Orchid, Marigold and even Olive Oil. All skin, even "special needs" skin, can benefit from their Canus Original, Nature by Canus facial wellness, and Li'l Goat's Milk for children lines.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What makes fresh goat's milk an exceptional moisturizer?
The protein strands in fresh goat's milk are shorter and therefore more easily absorbed by the skin. Fresh goat's milk also contains capric and caprylic acids that help balance the alkalinity of human skin. Goat's milk is rich in proteins, vitamins and minerals.

Where do you get your goat milk from?
They work with a cooperative of family farms throughout Canada in order to source their fresh goat's milk. The farm families are committed to raising their goats using the most humane methods possible - paying particular care to the diet and nutritional needs of their goats.

    Are Canus products dermatology tested?
Yes, Canus products are dermatologist tested and recommended for dry-skin irritations such as Eczema, Psoriasis and Acne.

    Are Canus products all natural?
Yes, all Canus products are all-natural. They also source organic ingredients from sustainable sources whenever possible.

    Do Canus products contain parabens?
No, their products do not contain parabens. (Parabens are chemical preservatives that lengthen shelf-life. There is evidence that they may interfere with natural hormone function.)

Do your products and bottles have phthalates in them?
No - not in the product nor in the packaging. Recent studies in laboratory rodents indicate phthalates may cause changes in hormone levels, birth defects and compromise organ function.

Why is fresh goat's milk better than powdered?
Fresh goat's milk retains its skin-nourishing nutrients and vitamins. Products based on powdered or dehydrated milk are heated so high that during the dehydration process the structure of the reconstituted milk is changed, decreasing its effectiveness. That's why they only use fresh milk in all of their products.

It all started with a bar of soap. And a goat.
Way back in 1994, two friends from Montreal decided the world would be a whole lot softer if more people washed with soap made from fresh goat's milk.

Thus began Canus and in just a few short years, their original triple-milled bar grew into the second largest selling soap in all of Canada.

Andree Falardeau and Andre Beauregard figured they were on to something.

Pretty soon Canus was making fresh goat's milk body wash, fresh goat's milk moisturizer, fresh goat's milk body butter and foot scrub. The entire line was made with farm fresh goat’s milk. It is still the same today.

All in all, there are now more than 70 Canus Goat's Milk and Li’l Goat's Milk products. Plus their newest Nature by Canus facial wellness line.

Andre stayed in Montreal and continues to lead Canus' Canadian operations while Andree jumped the southern border.

After establishing American headquarters in Vermont, she quickly built up Canus' U.S. distribution.

Today the charming Canus goat illustration smiles back at customers from the shelves of major mass retail and drug store chains, supermarkets and specialty stores throughout the lower 48. Of course, none of this could have happened without the thousands of dedicated, hard-working goats and the family farms that take such good care of them and deliver their milk to Canus.

Ultimately, the Company's success will be defined not only by how much product they sell but also by how they make it and by how many people's lives get better along the way.

This means continuously improving their sustainability practices and sourcing natural, responsibly grown and harvested botanical ingredients whenever possible.

It also means giving back, and supporting employees who want to make a difference in their local communities. They're very big on volunteerism and fund-raising. That’s why they launched their Canus for a Cure campaign to help patients cope with cancer.

That's the Canus story so far.

There are many more chapters yet to be written and they plan on making each one as fun, interesting and full of promise (and goats) as the first ones.

Have you ever spent quality time with a bunch of does?
If so, you know their compassionate, nurturing nature sets a good example for all of us. Canus is committed to following their lead by getting behind some very worthy causes. The goats also feel a special affinity for those who have cancer and for anyone who has lost a loved one to this horrible disease.

First, they know it affects the whole family, not just the patient. And more practically, they know the toll that radiation and chemotherapy can take on the skin. That's why they created Canus for a Cure™, their very own campaign to do all they can to help people forge ahead in their courageous battles to fight cancers of all kinds.

    Canus for a Cure
    A little background...

The goats get phone calls and letters from cancer patients with some regularity. They reach out to thank them and share how the Fresh Goat's Milk products have helped.

That's why they created Canus for a Cure, their very own ongoing campaign to do all they can to help people forge ahead in their courageous battles to fight cancers of all kinds. The Canus for a Cure campaign ensures that each year the soothing relief of Fresh Goat's Milk products are placed in the hands of as many cancer patients as possible.

Love this soap!! I can't tolerate scents. To be able to find an unscented, natural product without all the chemical additives so many products contain is extremely important to me. I don't know why products like this are so hard to find. Thank you for carrying CANUS Goats Milk Soap.

This soap not only contains goat's milk, but also Sodium Palmate, Sodium Palm Kernelate and Glycerin, all of which appear to help with nourishing and moisturizing the skin. This particular version of the Canadian produced Canus brand soap is fragrance free. Having suffered from eczema as well as symptoms of dry sensitive skin, I have found this to be the ideal soap for me. I used it for several years, but my local source stopped carrying it. The price at Lucky was the best online price I found. I was very pleased with the service I received and am glad to have a new found source for this favorite product. Thank you.
