Morning Sickness: Your Most Unwanted Pregnancy Surprise
For expectant women who experience morning sickness, Vitamin B6 can help soothe symptoms of pregnancy-related nausea and vomiting. Up to 85% of moms-to-be undergo bouts of morning sickness during their early stages of pregnancy. Monitoring and alleviating these symptoms at their onset may help support normal prenatal health.
Natural Relief, At Home
Vitamin B6 can help soothe pregnancy-related nausea and vomiting, and is endorsed by the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) as a safe and effective form of support for morning sickness symptoms, such as pregnancy-related nausea and vomiting. Premama provides a potent concentration of Vitamin B6 (30 mg) - one of the highest available in a prenatal vitamin - to help address your morning sickness experience. Many prenatal vitamins contain Vitamin B6 but may not have comparable dosage levels to help your symptoms. Vitamin B6 is important for both fetal health and you.
Vitamin B6 & Prenatal Health
Along with helping ease your morning sickness, Vitamin B6 is essential for your baby's growth, contributing to:
- Proper physiological function
- Promoting energy metabolism
- Immune system and neurotransmitter synthesis
Therefore, Vitamin B6 is also vital to your baby's brain cognitive and nervous system growth. The potent 30 mg of Vitamin B6 in Premama offers you the peace of mind for you and your baby's health.

What is myo-inositol?
Myo-inositol is a compound with a similar structure to a B-vitamin and is found naturally in most of their body cells, as well as citrus fruits and legumes. In fact, their bodies can make it themselves-which is why it cannot technically be classified as a vitamin. According to clinical trials performed in Europe, women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) that took myo-inositol supplements showed significant improvement in ovulatory function and egg quality. Premama harnessed this potential by creating Premama Fertility, which contains myo-inositol and folic acid for women trying to conceive.
What is DHA?
Premama Essentials + DHA contains a compound called docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). DHA is a "good" type of fat called a polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acid. This type of fat supports fetal brain development because it is an essential component of the myelin sheath, the fatty coating of nerves. DHA is usually found in the form of fish oil; however, Premama Essentials + DHA is made with life'sDHA, a plant-based source, to accommodate vegetarian mothers.
In October 2010, Premama Vitamin Drink started out as a socially-responsible initiative at Brown University. Given their passion for and experience in health, sports, and visits to local hospitals, their mission was to address problems in the area of nutrition. Little did they know their chat with an expectant mom at a local Whole Foods would lead them to pursue the path of prenatal nutrition: that large "horse-like" prenatal pills can be difficult to swallow and often carry side-effects of nausea and constipation. What if they could develop a unique product with doctor-recommended prenatal vitamins and minerals that's healthy, convenient, and comfortable for moms to drink? In that instant, Premama was born.
After interviewing their moms, aunts, cousins, distant relatives, family friends, and over a hundred expectant mothers, they began to realize how real the discomforts of taking prenatal pills were. While a majority of the women were aware of prenatal vitamin health benefits, many simply stopped using them because the pills became unbearable. They learned that each year over 850,000 women in the United States suffer from pregnancy complications and birth defects-largely due to nutritional deficiency.
They gathered a team of obstetricians and gynecologists (OB/GYNs), nutritionists, pharmacists and health business experts and immediately delved into product development. They promised a prenatal nutritional beverage that was complete, all-natural, and easy-to-drink. With friends, family and numerous moms-to-be serving as samplers of Premama, they refined their product until everyone reached a consensus on nutritional effectiveness and taste. Their next step was to launch their company to market a flavorless Premama to OB/GYNs across the United States.
After winning the 2011 Rhode Island Business Plan Competition, meeting with countless doctors, interviewing expectant moms, and receiving extremely positive feedback on their drink, they are proud to finally present Premama to market. Pregnancy, they believe, should be as healthy, wholesome and comfortable as possible. Now moms and moms-to-be can feel good knowing Premama provides all the key prenatal nutrients for their babies and themselves-without the pain of the pill. At Premama, passion for your well-being is their motivation behind everything they do. They are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be a positive part in one of the most important moments of your life.
