Q. Why have I never heard of this before?
A. For centuries, coconut water has been enjoyed in tropical areas around the world like Brazil, Thailand, the Philippines, and India. However, when you chop off the top of a young green coconut the water begins to oxidize immediately and is only good for approximately 3-5 days. As a result of Tetra Pak and its new technologies, coconut water can now be packaged in the Tetra Pak packaging with a 10 month shelf life.
Today, packaged coconut water has greater sales than orange juice in Brazil. Now you can buy coconut water with an organic salad at McDonald’s in Brazil.
Q. Is O.N.E. Coconut Water raw?
A. O.N.E. is not a raw product as our coconut water undergoes a pasteurization process. The extracted coconut water undergoes several filterings before it is taken to the sterilizer, which submits the natural coconut water to a process known as High Temperature Short Time (HTST). This thermal treatment eliminates any microorganisms, leaving the coconut water totally sterile, pure and delicious, just like at harvest time.
It is important to have the product pasteurized for consumption by children.
The pasteurization process does not affect the electrolyte and nutrient profile of the coconut water.
