Frequently Asked Questions
Which DrNatura products help with gas and bloating?
Flora Protect Probiotics and Digestaid are highly recommended for those who suffer from gas and bloating.
Lack of friendly bacteria that normally live in your intestine can cause digestive disturbances, including gas and bloating. These essential bacteria can be replenished by taking a daily dose of a probiotic supplement. Flora Protect Probiotics is a premium quality, vegetarian supplement with enteric coating to protect the “good bacteria” as it travels through your system.
Digestaid contains natural plant enzymes which, when taken with meals, assist food digestion and may help prevent a wide range of digestive complaints, such as gas, bloating, heartburn and indigestion.
What is Vitamin D?
Vitamin D is produced in the body with the aid of direct exposure of the skin to sunlight. There are few natural dietary sources of vitamin D.
Is the DrNatura Vitamin D vegetarian?
No. Because our D3 is in a softgel made with gelatin sourced from bovine (cow), it is not vegetarian. However, the ingredients in our D3 are all natural. You may open the capsule or pierce it if you want to use the components without the softgel.
Does the DrNatura vitamin D supplement contain GMOs?
No. Our Vitamin D supplement does not contain any GMOs, also known as Genetically Modified Organisms.
What is the source of DrNatura Vitamin D?
DrNatura Vitamin D is cholecalciferol, or D3, sourced from lanolin from sheep’s wool.
Where is DrNatura Vitamin D manufactured?
DrNatura Vitamin D is manufactured in Arizona.
What are the dietary sources of vitamin D?
Common natural food sources do not contain adequate amounts of vitamin D to meet nutritional needs for growth. So food fortification is used to meet the population’s need for this nutrient. Fatty fish oils and livers (liver may contain toxic contaminants, so should be consumed in limited amounts) are the few natural sources of this vitamin. The most common dietary source is from fortified foods such as vitamin D fortified cow and soy milk. Not all milk is fortified with vitamin D – you have to read the label. Most cheeses and yogurts are not fortified with vitamin D.
What types of people typically need vitamin D supplementiation?
Vitamin D deficiency is more common than you might expect. People who don’t get enough sun, especially people living in Canada and the northern half of the US, are especially at risk. Vitamin D deficiency also occurs even in sunny climates, possibly because people are staying indoors more, covering up when outside, or using sunscreens consistently these days to reduce skin cancer risk.
Older people are also at risk for vitamin D deficiency. They are less likely to spend time in the sun, may not get vitamin D in their diet, may have trouble absorbing vitamin D even if they do get it in their diet, and may have more trouble converting dietary vitamin D to a useful form due to aging kidneys. In fact, the risk for vitamin D deficiency in people over 65 years of age is very high. Surprisingly, as many as 40% of older people even in sunny climates such as South Florida don’t have enough vitamin D in their systems.
Vitamin D supplements may be necessary for older people, people living in northern latitudes, and for dark-skinned people who need extra time in the sun, but don’t get it.
What is the benefit of taking Vitamin D3?
Research has found that Vitamin D promotes bone and joint health, colon and breast health, a healthy immune system, healthy mood and brain function. In combination with calcium, vitamin D helps maintain strong bones and teeth.
Should I take Vitamin D with other supplements?
When taken with calcium, vitamin D helps maintain strong bones and teeth, so many people pair the two together. We suggest you discuss with your healthcare provider if doing this is right for you.
Can my child take DrNatura Vitamin D3?
No. We do not recommend giving this dosage of vitamin D3 to children under 18 years of age. Please contact your healthcare provider if you feel your child needs vitamin D supplementation.
Is it possible to take too much Vitamin D?
Yes. Please consult your health care provider if you have concerns about taking too much vitamin D.

Where is DrNatura Omega 3 manufactured?
DrNatura Omega-3 Plus is manufactured in Arizona.
How can you ensure the fish oil in DrNatura Omega 3 is not contaminated?
DrNatura Omega 3 Plus goes through a rigorous, 10-step process of refining, esterfication (to be cholesterol free) and molecular distillation to ensure the end product is one of the purest available, free of heavy metals, pesticides and environmental contaminants. Quality Assurance technicians oversee every aspect of the manufacturing process, from the procurement of the fish oil to the shipment of finished product; their meticulous work meets GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) compliance.
What are Omega 3 "EFAs"?
Omega 3 fatty acids are polyunsaturated fatty acids found in certain foods. The term “omega 3” refers to their chemical structure. Omega 3 fatty acids cannot be made in the body and must be obtained from food; thus, they are essential fatty acids
What are "EPA" and "DHA"?
Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), are essential fatty acids found in algae, which are eaten by fish and baleen whales. We obtain these fatty acids by eating fish (e.g., salmon) or taking supplements that contain EPA and DHA, such as DrNatura Omega 3 Plus.
Is DrNatura Omega 3 Plus vegetarian?
Omega 3 Plus contains fish oil and the softgel capsule contains gelatin from bovine (cow), so it is not vegetarian. However, the ingredients are all natural. You may open the capsule or pierce it if you want to use the components without the softgel.
Does the DrNatura Omega 3 Plus supplement contain GMOs?
No. Our Omega 3 Plus supplement does not contain any GMOs, or Genetically Modified Organisms.
Why didn't you use a vegetarian form of Omega 3, like flaxseed oil?
The shortest omega-3 fatty acid, a-linolenic acid (ALA), is found in plants and plant oils, including leafy vegetables, walnuts, mustard seed oil, soy bean oil, canola oil and flaxseed oil (which is made up of 50% a-linolenic acid). Our bodies do not convert plant omega-3 fatty acids (ALA) well. We can convert about 5% of ALA to EPA, but the level of EPA in blood does not rise when we consume ALA
What are the benefits of taking fish oil?
Research has found that fish oil promotes a healthy heart, mood and brain function. Some people use fish oil to lower triglyceride levels (fats related to cholesterol). Recent studies have found that fish oil can also help maintain a healthy colon and prostate, although more research is needed for this to be proven.
Is there a limit to the amount of Omega 3 that I should take?
Taking up to 3,000mg per day is considered likely safe. There are 1,000mg in DrNatura Omega 3 Plus. You should also consider the amount of Omega 3 you are getting from your diet. If you are concerned, please talk to your health care provider.

Can I take DrNatura Products long-term?
KleriTea and Immune Protect should not be taken long-term. All other DrNatura products may be taken long-term. Generally, completing a one-month course of the Colonix & Toxinout programs every six to twelve months after the initial three-month cleanse is a good way to keep the colon clean and functioning well. Once you feel revitalized, you’ll want to keep feeling that way! (Good health is addictive.) To build on your post-cleanse momentum, add the Colonix fiber, Flora Protect Probiotics and/or DetoxiGreen to your daily routine to maintain your healthy state and prevent future toxin build-up. If your diet lacks dietary fiber, Colonix provides a whopping 8 grams per serving (32 percent of the recommended daily value). If you prefer to take a daily fiber with no minimum liquid requirement, choose UniFiber insoluble fiber supplement.

About Dr Natura
It all started in a kitchen. Long before it was known as Colonix by DrNatura, this popular fiber cleanser was a homemade recipe crafted with hand-milled, garden-grown herbs. The psyllium-herbal blend was developed by a naturopathic doctor and her husband who shared it with their friends and family. Their friends in turn shared it with their friends… and 13 years later this “secret formula” is a brand recognized and shipped all over the globe – with more than 2 million Colonix Programs sold.
