Green 'N' Pack Eco Friendly Bags - Dog Poo Bags 60 Day Pack - 160 Bags
Green your dog, green our planet. Green'N'Pack Doggie Duty Solutions provide the perfect balance - they are strong and durable enough for the task of picking up, yet at the same time, they are not made with unnecessary size or thickness that only leads to unnecessary material, with no real consumer benefit, being disposed of in landfills.
Composition of Green’N’Pack Dog Waste Bags:
- 20% pre-consumer recycled plastic, 100% controlled-life intelligent plastic which are designed to decompose in a short period of time unlike conventional plastic bags.
Thier eco friendly dog waste bags are available in the following sizes:
- Green'N'Pack Dog Poo bags, 160 bags.
- Green'N'Pack Dog Poo, 200 bags.
Before Green'N'Pack Eco Friendly bags start to decompose, it is as good as ordinary plastic that can be re-used and recycled.
Green'N'Pack bags can be recycled?
Green'N'Pack Eco Friendly Bags can be recycled and can be made from recyclate whereas the traditional biodegradable bags cannot. Green'N'Pack Eco Friendly Bags have been manufactured from the high quality commodity polyolefins and have indistinguishable technological performance from regular polyolefin products during manufacture and use. Green'N'Pack Eco Friendly Bags can be collected in the main polyolefin waste stream for recycling and are fully compatible with regular polyolefins.
Green'N'Pack bags made from byproducts of oil refining?
Green'N'Pack Eco Friendly Bags are made from petroleum by-products. But because they are by-products, nobody is importing extra oil to make Green'N'Pack Eco Friendly Bags. They're just using something that used to be considered waste and discarded!
Green'N'Pack bags use any recycled plastic in their bags? if so, what percentage of recycled plastic is used?
Yes. They incorporate inline recycled plastics to achieve a 20 percent recycled content in Green'N'Pack Eco Friendly Bags. They choose not to incorporate recycled plastic from sources distant from their manufacturing plant because the extra fuel used to transport that recycled material would actually increase our carbon footprint, making our bags less eco-friendly. They are more interested in doing the right thing for the planet than in boosting their recycled content percentage just to appear more green.
What is Controlled-Life Technology?
Within the controlled safe service life, Green 'N' Pack eco friendly bags will turn into a material that has a completely different molecular structure that is bio-assimilated in the open environment, similar to the decompotition of a leaf.
At the conclusion of the controlled safe service life, Green’N’Pack Eco Friendly Bags will turn into a material that has a completely different molecular structure that is bio-assimilated in the open environment, similar to the decomposition of a leaf.
How do you control the safe service life of Green’N’Pack Eco Friendly Bags?
Green’N’PackEco Friendly plastic products are made from controlled-life plastic. After the plastic controlled-life span, the bio-assimilation process of Green’N’PackEco Friendly Bags will start. They can predict the timing by using a nifty trick called the ARRhenius Equation. Basically, this equation, developed in the late 19th Century, lets us accurately determine the rate of a chemical reaction depending upon ambient temperature. In other words, they use an old but very accurate math equation to help them know how quickly the chemical reaction of decomposition will begin for a given material. To control the timing of that decomposition, they control the precise composition of the plastic material they use.
The evidence shows that over 60% mineralization takes place in a laboratory test in two years, and complete bio-assimilation of Green’N’Pack Eco Friendly Bags by 100% will take up to four years. This is comparable with nature’s wastes. Straw, for example, would take about 10 years to mineralize under the same conditions.
How do Green’N’Pack Eco Friendly Bags decompose or break down?
Green’N’PackEco Friendly products are designed to turn plastic into a material that has a completely different molecular structure that is bio-assimilated in the open environment, similar to the decomposition of a leaf. Green’N’Pack Eco Friendly Bags are NOT traditional biodegradable bags because when traditional biodegradable bags decompose in compost facility, they release methane. Green’N’Pack Eco Friendly Bags are made from controlled-life plastic that are designed to decompose in a short period of time unlike conventional plastic bags and without releasing methane gases.
Will Green’N’Pack Eco Friendly Bags transform its molecular structure and begin to decompose if they happened to be thrown away in the ocean right after they were made? Will they endanger sea creatures for another 24 months because their safe service life is controlled?
No. In rivers, lakes and oceans, Green’N’PackEco Friendly Bags will float on the surface, where they are oxidized with consequent fragmentation and biodegradation. Conditions in the ocean are ideal for Green’N’PackEco Friendly Bags to begin degrading. There is oxygen and ultraviolet light on the surface, there are sufficient micro-organisms, and the wind and waves subject the material to stress. The process of bio-assimilation for the Green’N’Pack Eco Friendly Bags will actually speed up under these conditions, so even if the controlled safe service life is 24 months, in fact, they will not float on the surface for 24 months.
There have been many reports over the past 20 years of plastic wastes floating in the ocean currents and of consequent damage to sea mammals that ingest them by mistake as food. In other reports, mammals have become entangled in some forms of packaging and in particular by netting from fishing vessels. These plastics have not been identified but are almost certainly produced using the traditional procedures of the polymer industries. Therefore, the more Green’N’PackEco Friendly Bags are produced, chances are good that we can actually reduce the size of our “Ocean Garbage Patches.”
Where did they get this idea of controlled-life plastics?
The idea of the Green'N'Pack eco-friendly bags originated when the founder observed the "paid" plastic carrier bags flying on the tree and realize plastic ban cannnot resolve the plastic litter problem. She thought "there should be a better way of using plastic.", and hence Green'N'Pack were born.
- Traditional biodegradable bags are renewable corn-based, however, they might contribute to the problem of world food shortage due to farmers devote more effort in growing high economic value products. Green'N'Pack bags are bags from the "by-product" during oil-refining process, we utlize the leftover value on the by-product which if we are not going to use it, it will be wasted. (note 1)
- Some of the traditional biodegradable bags break down too quickly and leak, whereas Green'N'Pack bags are make with 24 months safe service life and thus they are as reusable and recyclable as conventional bags. The conventional bags will last upto 400 years which create problem. (note 2)
- Traditional biodegradable bags only decompose in commercial compost facility that requires certain temperature level, microbe, and humidity. Whereas Green'N'Pack bags are designed to turn plastic into a material that has a completely different molecular structure so that is bio-assimilated in the open environment, similar to the decomposition of a leaf. (note 3)
- If people want to mechanically recycle or reuse Green'N'Pack bags during their useful life (usually at least 18 months), then that is practicable, and they cost very little if anything more than conventional products. Traditional biodegradable bags cannot be recycled (note 4,5)
Reduce Landfill Waste
Their products are designed not to pollute the Earth with plastic litter, toxic residue and methane.
Will Green'N'Pack Eco Friendly Bags breakdown in a landfill?
Let us divide the plastic controlled-life into two phases. In the first phase which we call it the plastic controlled-life span, the Green’N’Pack controlled-life technology formulation will start to work with the oxygen in the environment from the moment the raw film is made. In this phase, the oxidation starts but isn’t detectable by the human eye and does not affect product performance.
In the second phase, the controlled-life formula begins to break the molecular chains so that the Green’N’Pack bags are no longer plastic. Green’N’Pack bags do not just become fragments, but are consumed in the second phase by bacteria and fungi, permitting living micro-organisms to access the carbon and hydrogen released.. This process continues until Green’N’Pack Eco Friendly Bags have bio-assimilated to nothing more than CO2, water, and biomass, leaving no fragments of petro-polymers.
Green’N’Pack Eco Friendly Bags are NOT intended to become bio-assimilated deep in a landfill because they require oxygen to complete their transformation. But under the anaerobic conditions deep in a landfill, our bags become inert fragments and do not emit methane.
In most cases, during the first phase of plastic controlled-life, Green’N’Pack Eco Friendly Bags are already oxidized by atmospheric oxygen. Therefore, even when they go into a landfill, they break apart over time and allow trash to compost and decay more efficiently, thus increasing the life span of the landfill. Their bags blend naturally with compost, and allow debris to break down more quickly.
Safety & Plastics
All of their products are extensively evaluated for toxicity and safety and comply with applicable quality and safety regulations. Green'N'Pack Brand products can be used with confidence when label directions are followed.
Can food be stored in Green’N’Pack Eco Friendly Bags? Can food safely touch the plastic?
Green’N’Pack Eco Friendly Bags are compliant with applicable FDA regulations for food contact. The products are formulated using a polyethylene base resin that meets the requirements of FDA Code of Federal Regulations Chapter, 21, Section177.1520 (olefin polymers). Additives used in the Green’N’Pack Eco Friendly Bags formulation are also approved for use in food contact applications.
What specifically is used as an additive to cause Green’N’Pack Eco Friendly Bags to break down? Assuming the additive is some type of metal salts, are they safe?
Yes. The transition metal salt used as catalysts in Green’N’Pack Eco Friendly Bags are widely distributed in agricultural soils and taken up by the foods that humans eat, and in drinking water. Green’N’Pack Eco Friendly Bags contain manganese as the essential trace elements as catalyst metal salt. The average intake from food and drinking water is 0.16 milligrams per day. The amount of transition metal salt available to plants from common soils is very much greater than could be produced from Green’N’Pack Eco Friendly Bags in the soil and is much higher than can be absorbed by plants. Additives used in the Green’N’Pack Eco Friendly Bags formulation are approved for use in food contact applications.
