Biotta - Organic Beet Juice - 16.9 oz. (500 ml.)
Biotta Organic Beet Juice is made from freshly harvested beets, making this juice uniquely sweet and earthy. Beets are an excellent source of potassium and a source of naturally occurring dietary nitrates. This juice contains both dietary nitrates and betaine. Nitrates increase the level of nitric oxide (NO), which relaxes and widens blood vessels, aiding blood flow. This allows oxygen to flow to the muscles more easily, improving athletic performance and the ability to exercise. Betaine helps to maintain liver, heart and kidney health.

Are there any side effects to drinking beet juice?
The dark carotenes of beet juice may give your urine and bowel movements a red color. This color change is harmless. Since beets are high in oxalates, people who tend to make oxalate kidney stones may want to avoid beet juice.
What is the shelf life of Biotta juices?
Biotta juices have a two-year shelf life. That means that, from the date of production to the date the product expires, Biotta juices can sit on your shelf. At any point in that time period, you can open a bottle of our organic vegetable or fruit juice and experience fresh-from-the-field flavor and nutritional value.
What happens once the bottle is opened?
Biotta recommends their healthy juices be refrigerated before enjoying. Once opened, Biotta juices can be stored in the refrigerator and enjoyed for seven days.
Why does Biotta use glass bottles?
Glass is completely tasteless and provides the best product protection and ensures non-gas-permeability. This means external, undesired elements (such as oxygen) cannot get into the product, and nothing is able to escape from the bottle (flavor). This allows for full retention of flavor, content and aroma. With glass bottling, there is no migration of packaging materials into the product, as can happen with plastic or aluminum, having negative effects on product quality.
Founded in Switzerland in 1931 by Dr. Hugo Brandenberger, the organic beverage company, Biotta, has remained dedicated to their original goal of producing top-quality juice from vegetables and fruits just as nature intended–fresh from the field into the bottle. They produced and launched their first line of juices in 1957. Over the years, Biotta has farmed more than 1,700 acres of chemical-, fertilizer-, and toxic-free land — a very rare find among today’s farmland.
Along with three generations of family farmers, Biotta has established reliable and scientific organic growing techniques, protecting the natural wholesomeness and taste of all ingredients. Biotta juices use only natural and physical processing methods as opposed to commonly used chemical methods. Production routines at Biotta have a direct impact on the quality of the juices: the fewer processing steps, the higher the nutritional value.
Established in business for over 50 years, and exporting to more than 40 countries, Biotta is one of the top selling functional juices in the world. The taste of Biotta’s quality juices are widely accepted, and are naturally rich with vitamins and minerals for your health and wellness.
In 1951, Biotta committed itself to organic farming — harvesting its vegetables and fruits from healthy, living soil and organic production, both according to Swiss Organic Standards — many years before the enthusiasm for organic food really took hold. At Biotta, top quality means organic vegetables and fruit grown as nature intended. First-class raw products and painstakingly careful processing are the key to the natural flavor of Biotta juices, which are all rich with natural minerals and vitamins, to promote good health. They guarantee that no artificial additives are used. Biotta juices are 100% natural and are not made from concentrate or diluted with water.
For Biotta, the development of organic farming has been decisively shaped by two men. Dr. Rudolf Steiner, the founder of Anthroposophy, laid the foundations of what was then known as organic-dynamic farming back in the 1920s with soil management techniques. In the 1940s, Dr. Hans Müller developed the organic-biological farming method. This method is now widely used throughout the world, and is also followed by Biotta.
These two pioneers regarded the earth not as a necessary evil, as agricultural chemists thought of it back then, but much more as an essential biological stage which one cannot bypass with impunity. Each piece of living soil is home to billions of micro-organisms (bacteria, enzymes and fungi). Hence a handful of earth contains more living things than there are people on Earth; these living things play a very important role in preparing plant food. The healthier and more varied the micro-organisms, the healthier and more resistant will be the plants that, in turn, give us the means to defeat diseases and pests ourselves.
In order to produce excellent, high-quality organic juices, Biotta places great value on research, development, production and quality assurance. The focus here is not merely on developing new products, but also on continually improving existing juice varieties. To ensure their customers are consistently offered only the very best quality, they have created teams dedicated to the development, production and quality of Biotta juices.
Biotta not only believes in producing high quality, functional juices, but also places great value on being environmentally conscious. They do so by:
- Selling the unusable by-products from the processed fruits and vegetables to farmers for use as organic animal feed, ensuring that every element of the crop is put to good use.
- Using only glass bottles, providing the best product protection and allowing for full retention of flavor, content and nutrients as well as recyclability.
- Printing labels on FSC-certified paper in an effort to meet the social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations.
