Biokleen's Commitment to Families, Pets & Our Planet
Biokleen has built their legacy on highly effective cleaning products that don’t use — and don’t need — toxic chemicals. Initially founded to make plant-based, non-caustic cleaners for professional services and janitors, Biokleen brings those same powerful formulas to families and homes across America today. As part of that commitment, all Biokleen products are free of phosphates, chlorine, ammonia, petroleum solvents, alcohol, butyl, glycol ether, brighteners, artificial colors, artificial fragrance. They believe that a house free of toxins is a home full of love.

Since their founding in 1989, Biokleen has remained family owned and operated, now in its second generation. While other brands have been purchased by, and absorbed into, larger conglomerates, they are committed to putting families — not profits — first.

Biokleen loves animals. That’s why they have never tested a single product on them or used their biochemistry in their formulations. In fact, they design all Biokleen products with pets in mind, for they are just as sensitive to toxins, synthetic dyes and artificial fragrances as humans are.

All Biokleen products are packaged in numbers 1 (polyethylene terephthalate) and 2 (high-density polyethylene) plastics, since they are the most commonly accepted by curbside programs and have a low risk of product leaching.

Natural enzyme-producing cultures, food-grade lime extracts and stabilizers. vegetable-based surfactants, and filtered water.

In case of eye contact, flush eyes with cool water for 15 minutes. In case of ingestion, do not induce vomiting; drink plenty of water to dilute.

Jim Rimer founded Biokleen in 1989. As a previous sales representative of cleaning chemicals in the commercial and industrial industry he became more and more aware of the dangers of the products he was selling and the ingredients they contained. He saw firsthand his chemicals were creating health problems for his customers, causing negative effects - including cancer - on families and pets in the homes and businesses where these supplies were being used. Jim was selling poison and this realization shook him to the core. Jim's drive to take a stand and make a difference helped motivate him to study chemistry. With his newfound knowledge and driven passion he formulated his first cleaner using natural, non-toxic ingredients.

Love this product for getting odors out of things. We had a problem with septic overflow that left thing stored near the flooded area smelling terrible. Scrubbing and washing with Bac-Out for water safe items got rid of the odor. For items that could not be saturated, we misted the product on them and then set items out in the sunshine and fresh air to dry. Some items took several treatments, but were salvaged. Highly recommend it.

It didn't get stains out and it didn't cut down on my cloth diaper stink either. It has a nice lime scent which I enjoyed tho, although it didn't last on the clothes.
