About Love & Toast
Love & Toast is created by Margot Elena President and Creative Director of internationally known bath, body, and cosmetics brands Lollia and Tokyo Milk. Like each of Margot's micro-beauty brands, Love & toast was born out of a passion for the highest quality formulations married with the most beautiful design possibilities.
Margot opened her first bath & body store in Lawrence, Kansas in 1993 where, among her other bath and beauty collections, she created custom blended perfumes from essential oils. She hand-crafted her own natural facial products and sold her family's handmade soaps from one of the nation's first 'soap bars' where soaps were freshly cut, wrapped then tied with twine and a signature leaf tucked in. From the very beginning each product was developed to delight from the inside out. Margot's two pinnacle requirements were realized and became her simple mission. Every formula must perform so it becomes one of your absolute favorites, and it must be a treasure to hold and to keep.
As the business grew, new identities were created. Bloom and Lollia were sold to retailers nationwide and met with loyal fans of the products, both for their exceptional quality and for their beauty.
The Long View
As demand increased, It became difficult to supply with batches still being made by hand. In order to replicate the popular formulas customers had fallen in love with, the transition to serve wider demand required intense research and development. the naturals beauty world, still in its very early years, was largely experimental, often resulting in formulations that were inconstant with unpredictable results.
Here began Margot's long-term commitment to develop natural formulas with shelf stability and ingredients that consistently delivered. The choice was made to develop and innovate thoughtfully, ever mindful of creating products that were safe, performance-based, and beautiful Margot devoted herself to the decision not to rush, but the perfect. More time and testing were needed as the industry matured to develop reliable systems and sophisticated formulations.
Timing is Everything
Margot has spent the last several years developing Love & Toast's natural formulas that meet her exceedingly high standards for performance, stability, and philosophical integrity. It is a celebration well worth the wait! A return to her roots, her love of bath and beauty has come full circle, providing her current brand fans a natural choice with her signature style.
