Ultima Replenisher is a re-hydration sports drink which contains no sugars, artificial sweeteners or other artificial ingredients and contains only 35 to 40 calories per 20 ounce serving. The Ultima Replenisher formula, consisting of 30 essential minerals, electrolytes, vitamins, antioxidants, and complex carbohydrates, was designed and tested to optimize: 1) the rapid absorption of fluids and nutrients, 2) the supply of sustainable energy, and 3) recovery from exertion. Our product is designed to appeal to the health conscious consumer and committed athlete at all levels of sport.

What is Ultima Replenisher?
Ultima Replenisher is the most advanced hydration product available in the world. It is a sports drink with Zero Sugar, all 5 essential electrolytes, and it is all natural, with no artificial colors or sweeteners. Ultima is suitable for vegetarians and gluten free.

What is Hydration?
Hydration is water + electrolytes. A critical factor in hydration is the balance of the electrolytes and how readily they can be absorbed.

What are electrolytes? Why is it necessary to use all 5?
Electrolytes are Magnesium, Calcium, Chloride, Potassium, and Sodium. They are the necessary means by which the body can draw water through its permeable membranes, and thereby distribute fluid throughout the body. When we sweat, both water and electrolytes are depleted. It is necessary to replenish all 5 for proper hydration. If you only replace 1 or 2 of the electrolytes the other reserves in your body will continue to deplete. This will leave your body imbalanced, which can lead to muscle cramps and fatigue.

What is hyponatremia?
Hyponatremia is a deadly, but easily preventable condition caused by a severe shortage of sodium in your body. It is critical to replace water and electrolytes, not just water, when rehydrating. Ideally, one should replace water and electrolytes in similar ratios as they are used.

How does Ultima use all the electrolytes effectively?
Ultima’s formulation allows the body to start absorbing it as soon as it is ingested. Because the nutrients in Ultima are relative to one another based on their physiological balances, they are delivered very rapidly to the body systems to quickly facilitate hydration. While other sports drinks contain sodium levels similar to popular sodas, Ultima contains potassium and sodium in the proper 2:1 ratio, making it compatible to the body’s own intracellular makeup.

Why is it important that potassium and sodium be in a 2:1 ratio?
In the body potassium and sodium are found in a 2:1 ratio. As well, it is important to take in potassium and sodium in a 2:1 ratio because for every one milligram of sodium to be absorbable your body needs 2 milligrams of potassium. The potassium/sodium balance is important in maintaining the electrical pathway that helps the transmission of the nerve impulses and functioning of muscles. Some sports drinks claim that they have high levels of sodium because it is the most important. It is important however, but having the proper balance of all electrolytes is most important. Additionally, without the proper ratio of potassium to sodium the high levels of sodium are unusable by the body. An easy self test can be performed by drinking a sports drink high in sodium and low in potassium and experiencing the rejected sodium that is visible on the body and face.

Why don’t we use sugar?
Hydration= Water + Electrolytes. We do not use sugar because it provides a short-term release of energy, causing a sudden spike in one’s blood sugar levels. This spike in turn will create low blood sugar, which severely can reduce your sports performance and cause “hitting the wall” syndrome. Ultima Replenisher contains 100% complex carbohydrates (maltodextrin), which provides a constant and steady release of energy over a longer period of time.

Isn’t sugar necessary as an energy source:" ":tes. In the body, carbohydrates are broken down into glucose: energy blocks for the cells. Glucose is absorbed from the intestines into the blood, where it travels to the liver and other organs. This being stated, it is the source of our carbohydrates that is important. Carbohydrates can come from simple sugars. However, a more effective carbohydrate source can come from a healthy and balanced diet. Such eating habits provide the carbohydrates necessary for fuel. Simple sugars, whether from sports drinks, sodas, juices, or candy provide empty calories and can cause more bad than good. Ultima Replenisher allows us to use our body’s own natural energy stores.

What is maltodextrin? How is it related to sugar?
Maltodextrin is an easily digestible carbohydrate made from natural corn starch or wheat. The starch is cooked, and then acid and/or enzymes are used to break the starch into smaller polymers (a process similar to that used by the body to digest carbohydrates). Maltodextrin is not sugar. However it is similar to a chopped-down sugar. It is common in sports nutritional products and referred to sometimes as liquid spaghetti. It is a convenient source of energy and contains approximately 4 calories per gram. It is cold-water soluble and has low or no sweetness. It cannot be categorized as sugar.

What makes it Sweet then?
Lo Han Guo fruit extract (a fruit similar to kiwi) is our sweetener. It contains a natural sweetening agent called Mogroside, which is derived from the Lo Han Guo fruit and processed into a fine powder. This extract is easily soluble in water without any sediment. It is a stable, non-fermentable extract which is ideal for diabetics.

Who is it good for/ safe for? Athletes only? Is it safe if I am diabetic?
Everybody. Ultima’s formula was originally designed for birthing centers. Labor is one of the most dehydrating experiences one can have. Ultima is perfect because it provides hydration (water + electrolytes), and contains no sugar (which can easily cause stomach upset). Over the years, Ultima has become the sensible choice for any healthy person seeking hydration.

When and how often do I use Ultima?
Proper hydration occurs constantly. How hydrated you are now is dependent on what you did, ate, or drank an hour ago, a day ago, even a week ago. Additionally, many people are in a state of constant dehydration. Therefore, Ultima should be consumed on a daily basis even if you do not exercise on that day. If you exercise for one hour or less you should drink at least 20 ounces before your activity. During activity drink approximately 4-6 ounces every 15-20 minutes.

How quickly is Ultima absorbed?
Because of its unique formulation Ultima begins to be absorbed as soon as it is ingested and provides the body with all the essential nutrients it needs to accomplish rehydration. Ultima does not have that heavy coating effect that some sports drinks have. It is light and refreshing, and does not sit in the stomach.

Can I use it with gels?
Ultima Replenisher is also the only sports drink that is completely compatible with any of the gel products (GU, Clif Shot, PowerGel, CarbBoom, and Hammer Gel), which also use the same type of carbohydrate. A huge concern with athletes is mixing the complex carbohydrate in gels with sugary sports drinks. Such mixing can lead to stomach upset and worse: the “dirty shorts” syndrome.

Why is it available only in powder form?
Ultima uses no preservatives. With all of the minerals, vitamins, and vitamin enhancers, it has a relatively short shelf life once mixed (20 hours). It would be impossible to bot

Empty powder from scoop into mixing container. Add 16-20 fl oz. of water, depending on strength pregrence. Mix well and serve cold. Drink 4-6 ounces ever 15-20 minuets of activity.
