What products are NOT vegan, and why?
Unfortunately PeaceKeeper Lip Glosses, Lip Paints, “Perfect As Is” Lip Balm, and the nail paint “Paint Me Stunning” are NOT VEGAN due to the use of Carmine as a colorant. Carmine is a red dye made from crushed insect scales and is the only red color alternative to FD&C coloring, so PeaceKeeper feels it is the better alternative.
Since nature does not make a “real” fire-engine red, you will not find reds of those tones in this line. Fire-engine reds are made with FD&C coloring and are synthetic. PeaceKeeper uses minerals from the earth for coloring like Mica, Titanium Oxide and Ultramarines. They do however use Carmine (a pigment derived from carminic acid from the scales of certain insects) in Paint Me Stunning so if you are a vegan stay away from this color. ALL of Peace Keeper's other nail colors are VEGAN!
Are PeaceKeeper products Wheat/Gluten free?
Yes, Peacekeeper products are gluten and wheat-free because the Vitamin E used is derived from Soy.
Are your products safe for people suffering from Celiac Disease?
Celiac disease is a digestive disease that damages the small intestine and interferes with absorption of nutrients from food. People who have celiac disease cannot tolerate gluten, a protein in wheat, rye, and barley. While Peacekeeper products are wheat/gluten free because the Vitamin E we use is derived from soy, it’s best for you to consult with your doctor if you have any condition that might cause an allergic reaction. All PeaceKeeper Cause-Metics are made in a facility where there is no gluten used so there is no risk of cross-contamination.
Are your nail paints safe for children and pregnant women?
PeaceKeeper nail paints are some of the best in the industry, and are rated only a 4 (low moderate hazard) out of 10 (hazardous) by the environmental working group's 'skin deep' rating system. PeaceKeeper feels their nail paints are the best and most natural for anyone to use but advise that you should consult your doctor if you have concerns.
How should I dispose of my old nail polish?
While PeaceKeeper nail polishes are free of the ingredients that make most polishes “toxic” (like Phthalates, Acetone, FD&C Coloring, etc.) it’s best for you and Planet Earth if they are disposed of as a toxic material according to your state and local laws.
Do PeaceKeeper products have expiration dates?
PeaceKeeper doesn’t currently print expiration dates on their products but do advise that their Lip products are good for up to 2 years and Nail paints are good for up to 1 year.

PeaceKeeper strives every day to practice the ideals of truthfulness, non-stealing, and non-violence, as found in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, a text which outlines the ways in which a yogi can find ethical balance throughout their life. When a yogi practices truthfulness, ultimately anything they say will come true. If they practice not hoarding or stealing, people will feel so safe around them that they will reveal unimaginable treasures. When you truly practice non-violence, then no negative energy can harm you. Like the Buddhist monks who can safely walk through a battlefield, you can face each day unaffected by the negativity in the world. Now that's powerful!
As a company, PeaceKeeper strives to promote promote greater peace throughout the world by the practice of these traditional concepts. You can help achieve success by practicing truthfulness, non-stealing, and non-violence in your own everyday lives!
PeaceKeeper Cause-Metics is the first cosmetics company to give donations to women’s urgent human rights issues. They focus on women who live at the base of the pyramid on a dollar or two a day or women living in exploitation or servitude. PeaceKeeper is not simply a project created by a few women and the men who love them. For PeaceKeeper to work, many women (and men) must be involved. Just by buying a few products, you can become a PeaceKeeper too! If everyone works together--the women and men who buy their products, the buyers who bring PeaceKeeper into their stores, the people who write about Peacekeeper in the press--everyone can look back in 20 years and know that millions of dollars were raised to help lift up women and children in desperate need--together.
