Square Organics Is Not For Sale
"30 million men, women, and children are forced, deceived, and coerced into a $150 billion annual market for sex and labor. This is happening globally, and domestically; in urban and suburban areas; in hotels, restaurants, and on street corners. Slavery is wrapped up in almost every industry's supply chain, tainting the food we eat, the clothes we buy and the electronics we love."
Square Organics is proud to announce their latest partnership with Not For Sale, a San Francisco based non-profit organization fighting modern-day slavery, human trafficking and exploitation around the world!
It's always been their belief that ingredients matter most. Initially, this only applied to the actual food that goes into our bar. But soon every point from crop to bar was viewed as an "ingredient" for the end product - from the farmer, to the carrier, to you the consumer - and every ingredient matters.
Square Organics has committed to making quarterly contributions to Not For Sale based on their net sales. That means for every Square Organics sold, a portion of those proceeds go directly to funding Not For Sale's abolitionist efforts in areas like Peru, Thailand, and here in the Bay Area. In addition, they've combined forces with NFS to help evaluate, monitor, and improve every point along their supply chain.
Slavery and human trafficking is the fastest growing criminal industry in the world; Not For Sale believes you must fight this business with business. They're thrilled for Squarebar to be the latest ingredient in the mission to end modern slavery in our lifetime.
About Square Organics
Square Organics began in the San Francisco kitchen of husband and wife Sarah & Andrew Gordon. After battling asthma most all her life, Sarah discovered that eliminating inflammatory foods like gluten, dairy, soy, and processed sugars freed her from medication. It's been more than five years since her last attack, and she no longer keeps an inhaler in the house. Square Organics launched March 2012 at Natural Products Expo West and is now nationally distributed, growth built on their belief that Ingredients Matter Most. Square Organics source only the most nutrient-dense organic and non-gmo foods, and work directly with farmers to ensure an ethical path from crop to bar. That way the most important ingredient of all [you] can feel good about the food you eat.
