Support from the Inside Out
The best bras look good and feel good. They focus first on what lies against your skin and then work their way out, prioritizing support, breathability and flexibility. Because you’ve got better things to think about during practice than your bra.
Straps are strategically configured which provides both unparalleled support and supreme comfort.
Built, not Overbuilt
Interior construction seperates and (slightly) lifts your assets without constricting movement or compressing your chest.
Removable cups leaves support and coverage choices entirely up to you.
Supportive elastic band is firm, yet comfortable, and never restricts breath.
Mesh is Best
Jersey for comfort, mesh for support.
Fact: 80% of women wear the wrong size bra(!) Take the time to find your fit - they promise it’ll be worth it. Here’s how:
You Will Need:
- A flexible measuring tape
- A basic, unpadded bra
- A mirror to read measurements
To get your band size:
Measure around the bottom of your bra band, directly under your bust.
To get your cup size:
Measure around one breast from the breastbone to wear the tissue ends under your armpit.
The Flexibility to Flow
Their women's bottoms were inspired by the beauty of unrestricted, fluid movement. Designed to support and stretch with your legs in any pose. Warning: You may never want to take them off.
Wider, Higher Waistbands
Contoured waistbands provide extra coverage and sit firmly against skin. Like it lower? Fold it over.
Stretch & Recover
Four-way stretch fabric reaches further as you move. Then bounces right back to its original form.
Twice the Support
Double-layer gusset increases your range of motion and decreases the potential for any wordrobe malfunctions.
A Thoughtful Approach to Design
A New Perspective on Proportions
Their women’s line was built to fit real women with real proportions during real practice. Higher waists. Longer silhouettes. Contoured fits. Flexible seams. No matter how you flow, these pieces move with you.
Contoured for Curves
Leggings crafted specifically for yoga and its full range of movement. Waistbands follow the natural curve of your body, rising higher in the back to give you maximum coverage in the necessary places.
Bridging the Gap
When you're guaranteed to sweat, less clothing means more movement. Higher waistbands on leggings meet longer silhouettes on support tops for coverage that feels good and performs better.
Ankle, calf, knee or thigh, their bottoms come in a range of lengths designed for your individual comfort level and style of practice.
Fit for Yoga
Inspired by the legendary Black Mat. Influenced by teachers, near and far. Created to match the strength of their bodies. Yet yield to the softness of their breath. Every piece, designed to support your practice. Every thread, attached to an intention. Every fiber, consciously chosen for a fit that both feels good and does good.
Because what you wear to practice should free you, not constrict you. Support you, not distract you. Twist with you. Breathe with you. Lay still with you. And perhaps most importantly, represent you. Finally, a line of yoga apparel that's as fit for yoga as you are.
Made for Yoga
Manduka is made for yoga. Made for the present. For being here. For fresh starts and long journeys. Made for inverting perceptions, stretching souls, twisting standards. For disconnecting and reconnecting in the same breath. For bending to the point of almost breaking and for realizing your edge is much further than you think.
Made for falling in love with yourself and sometimes falling on your face. Made for laughing and then trying again. Made for the way you live. Pose to pose. Breath to breath. Moment to moment.
Made to honor the practice and the planet. To be conscious of your intentions, actions and reactions. Made to conserve, preserve and replenish. So you may leave this place just a little better than before. Inspired by the practice. Crafted with intention. Made for yoga.
Made for Good
They believe that the practice and the planet are as intertwined with one another as their own bodies and souls. To honor one, they must honor both. Everything they create is consciously designed to strengthen that connection. They draw inspiration from the natural wonders around them and in return, they seek to preserve the earth upon which they place their mats.
An important part of this approach is their focus on quality over quantity, making better products that last longer. That doesn't mean their products are perfect, it means they're constantly striving to improve them, and in the process, themselves.
The Manduka Story
Sometimes it's the bumps in the road that end up defining your journey. This is the story of Manduka, a company founded on the simple idea that a better yoga mat could make a world of difference.
In 1997, Peter Sterios, an architect turned yogi, discovered a simple, elegantly designed black mat whose combination of firm grip and complete support revolutionized his yoga practice. In honor of the yoga masters who inspired him, he sought to share this amazing product with others.
Peter had always been the beneficiary of great generosity from other yoga teachers. To repay that debt, he sent mats as gifts to many of the teachers he admired including Erich Schiffmann, Rod Stryker, Angela Farmer, Victor Van Kooten, Rodney Yee, and Shiva Rea. The teachers who inspired Peter were his first customers. And in the great yoga tradition, they shared their mats with their students, and a true yoga company was born. Peter chose the name Manduka in homage to his teacher and mentor, Shandor Remete, whose core practice and teaching always included the ancient Hatha Yoga Pradipika pose, Mandukasana or frog. The first time Peter heard and repeated the name of the pose he experienced a sense of childlike joy and delight as the sound rolled off his tongue. The word and the pose were mirror images, simultaneously playful and profound. The joy of Manduka is now spoken in so many countries, all over the world.
The quality and performance of Manduka mats and yoga accessories are still unmatched in the marketplace. They are still crafted using simple, enduring, natural, and whenever possible, renewable materials and a fine attention to detail. Manduka is a company built by and for yoga teachers and their students. They are still evolving, still introducing new products, and still celebrating the spirit and wisdom of yoga teachers and their students. From the road less traveled, something great and meaningful has arrived.
At Manduka they believe it's possible to honor your practice and the Earth. That's why they take the hard road to find sustainable product solutions. Together they celebrate the deep and profound bond yoga shares with the world. Whether it's zero waste and emissions free manufacturing, the sourcing of recycled materials, or creating the first ever 100% recyclable mat, you can be sure that your Manduka yoga gear will not only keep your practice thoughtfully grounded, but do so while leaving a very small footprint. Each detail is a conscious decision. Practice on.
