Biotics Research Bio-Immunozyme Forte - 180 Tablets
Biotics Research Bio-Immunozyme Forte is a unique, broad-spectrum multiple designed to specifically support normal, healthy immune function. Provides a wide array of vitamin, mineral, botanical, amino acid and organ/glandular specific support. Bio-Immunozyme Forte contains bovine neonatal thymus, spleen, liver, pancreas, in addition to bovine parotid gland, lymphatic and placental tissues. These glandular preparations are processed to maintain nutrients, enzymes and associated factors. Biotics Research uses bovine neonatal tissues where possible. The newborn animal has not been subjected to environmental factors to which the adult animal is subjected. The thymus is most active within a few days after birth, when it populates lymph nodes and the spleen. The effects of preparations of thymic factors after oral administration have been studied. Thymus extract supported thymic function during environmentally-induced physical stress. Spleen extracts can specifically modulate phagocytic activity in vitro. Healthy endocrine pancreatic glands are also important. They secrete glucagon, insulin and somatostatin. Somatostatin regulates growth hormone secretion. Healthy adrenal glands support normal immune function. They produce hormones that adapt the body to stress, including epinephrine and glucocorticoids. Cortisol stabilizes mast cells to inhibit inflammation. It also decreased capillary permeability to limit neutrophil infiltration and it reduces phagocytosis. Laboratory analysis of Biotics Research's adrenal glandulars did not detect the presence of the steroid hormones. Salivary glands produce factors that can enhance lymphocyte proliferation and support thymus, spleen and lymph nodes in animal models. The major salivary glands also produce antimicrobial factors.
The Immune System
The two arms of the immune system, humoral and cell-mediated immunity, work together as an integrated defensive system. Normally, antibodies are produced in response to a foreign material (acquired immunity). Immune complexes form between antibodies and antigens and are scavenged from the circulation or mucosal surfaces. Cellmediated immunity relies on T and B lymphocytes, mast cells, macrophages and others. T-cells regulate other defensive cells, including macrophages and killer cells. Cells of the immune system, turn over rapidly, hence, their nutrient requirements are high.
In addition, phagocytic cells generate free radicals and other reactive species to attack invaders. These oxidants contribute to the oxidative burden of organs which, if unchecked by the body's antioxidant defenses, can damage membrane lipids, diminish T-cell function and injure mucosal cells. Membranes damaged by lipid peroxidation may offer less resistance to infection. The production of radicals from endogenous and exogenous sources consumes antioxidants. Consequently, a variety of nutrients and factors support immune function.

At Biotics Research Corporation, we manufacture our own branded products on site, in our own state of the art facilities, allowing for complete control of the entire manufacturing process. In our on-site laboratories, the highly skilled members of our Quality Control Unit, utilize modern, sophisticated technologies and validated analytical methods to test incoming raw materials, monitor manufacturing processes, perform in-process testing, and test all finished products prior to their release for shipment. In fact, many aspects of our cGMPs (current Good Manufacturing Practices) exceed the new, recently enacted FDA guidelines for dietary supplements in order to ensure the safety and effectiveness of our products.
The Quality Control Unit (QCU) has the authority to approve and/or reject all specifications and procedures associated with the production and release of all raw materials, packaging materials and finished products, including test methods and results, instrument calibrations, and processing records. The QCU conducts all internal audits, and validates and audits all raw material and packaging suppliers and service vendors as well.
All incoming raw materials are subject to appropriate testing prior to their release for production. Tests conducted include identity, potency, biological activity, microbiological, including bacteria, yeast and mold (including aflatoxins) and heavy metals (arsenic, cadmium, lead & mercury). Retained samples are maintained of all raw materials and finished products for future testing requirements (raw material stability and finished product expiration date verification).
All bulk finished products (tablets & capsules) are inspected and subjected to metal detection prior to being sampled by QC. They are then subject to appropriate disintegration and/or dissolution testing, and potency testing prior to being released to packaging. All liquid and powder products are tested for potency prior to packaging as well. Finally, microbiological testing is performed on all finished products and document reconciliation is completed prior to being released for shipment.
All testing is performed by our trained QC personnel using state of the art laboratory instrumentation including High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), ICP, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AA), gel electrophoresis, FT-IR, Ultra Violet spectrophotometry, Thin Layer chromatography and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS).
