The Grandpa Soap Co. - The Original Wonder Pine Tar Soap - 4.25 oz. (120g)

Pine Tar Soap Benefits for Skin & Hair
The Grandpa Soap Company’s Pine Tar Soap is an original wonder soap recipe that has been trusted for generations. With hardworking, simple, and pure ingredients, this 100% plant-based pine tar soap is ideal for showering and bathing, plus you can use it for hair, beard, and troubled skin care. Made with natural pine tar oil, Grandpa’s Pine Tar Soap delivers deep cleansing, deodorizing, and moisturizing from head to toe. Pine tar soap is believed to have antibacterial and antifungal properties. It’s perfect for people with problem skin including sensitive skin, eczema, acne, psoriasis, athlete’s foot, dandruff, plus irritated skin under and around beards and shaving areas. It helps diminish itching and skin discomfort so it soothes bug and insect bites, too. You can even use pine tar soap on your dog to alleviate itchy hot spots! It’s one of the best soaps you can buy to gently remove dirt and build-up, medicinally treat skin issues, and leave your skin and hair feeling fresh and comfortable.

    Natural & High-Quality Ingredients
The Grandpa Soap Company prides itself on using only high-quality and natural ingredients for their body cleansing products like this Pine Tar Bar Soap. They have been creating pine tar soap since the 1870’s! Their original pine tar soap recipe has been trusted for so long because it works. Grandpa’s Pine Tar Soap is restorative, promotes skin healing, and it cleans like the Dickens! What is pine tar? Also known officially as Pinus Palustris, pine tar oil is a thick and sticky substance that comes from pine trees. The Grandpa Soap Company extracts their pine tar using a closed kiln process and it is Creosote-free. Pine tar is naturally moisturizing, nourishing, deodorizing, and it is antiseptic. The ingredient in Grandpa’s Pine Tar Soap that causes it to foam is sodium cocoate / sodium palm kernelate which is derived from natural coconut oil.

What Does Pine Tar Soap Smell Like?
One thing people seem to disagree on is the exact scent of pine tar soap. But, one thing is certain... pine tar soap definitely has a potent smell. Some people like it, some actually love it, and others don’t like it at all. The aroma of pine tar soap has been likened to a campfire with smoky, woodsy notes. Other people think it just smells like a fresh pine tree. Some claim it smells like a BBQ sauce, with once again, a smoky scent. The best thing to do is buy a bar to find out what you think. If the fragrance fills your bathroom up and you feel it’s too potent, try storing the pine tar bar soap in a travel soap case. Or, you can buy the body wash so the product is kept inside its package. However, many people who do not enjoy the pine tar soap scent at first become used to it and end up thoroughly liking it. The benefits of using Grandpa’ Pine Tar Soap far outweigh the scent!

Is Pine Tar Soap Good for Eczema?
Pine tar soap is great for skin conditions like eczema which cause itching, dryness, scaling, and swelling. It helps calm irritated, itchy skin and reduces inflammation while adding moisture and nourishment to dry patches. Many skin problems in addition to eczema can benefit from using pine tar soap such as psoriasis, dandruff, severe dryness, acne, pimples, blemishes, insect bites, athlete’s foot, poison ivy, plus smelly feet and armpits. It can be used on pets too, especially when they suffer from allergic reactions to fleas or have itchy hot spots. Since pine tar soap also acts as an antiseptic, antibacterial, and antifungal agent while it cleans, it helps promote skin healing. Use Grandpa’s Pine Tar Soap as part of your daily hygiene routine to experience calm, comfortable skin.

    Pine Tar Soap for Beard
Many men want to grow a beard but quickly discover they have itchy beards with irritated, sensitive skin underneath. If you want to grow a beard that’s not only great-looking, full, and comfortable too… try Grandpa’s Pine Tar Soap. It can help work wonders on sensitive facial skin and on other shaving zones of the body too, such as legs and the bikini line for women. It also helps ward against bacteria and pathogens so your shaving nicks and cuts won’t turn into painful, troublesome skin infections.

The Grandpa Soap Company’s Carefully Crafted Body Cleansers
Since the 1870’s, The Grandpa Soap Company has been addressing skin cleansing needs with their thoughtfully created, innovative formulas. They have based their company on hard work, values, and nature. I bought this because I read that some pregnant women have used it because it helped relieve their itching due to PUPPPs. I use it nearly daily and it doesn't dry out my skin and doesn't irritate it either. So that has been quite nice compared to bath gels, etc. It has not really relieved my itching, but I enjoy the product nonetheless and I enjoy the woodsy/campfire scent it has. I think it's a nice product

Although it does clean well, it smells like burnt wood, like rubbing charcoal on my body in the form of soap. It takes a bit of getting used to.

This is a great soap for those who like the pine tar scent. It's natural and leaves the bathroom smelling like the wilderness. The pine tar leaves a waxy residue on the skin and tub, but I don't mind it at all. It makes my skin feel rejuvenated. Plus the bar lasts a long time. The bar doesn't dissolve quick like most soap bars.

Works perfectly. The smell of pine is very strong but I love it.

This stuff is the best! Don't have to have a skin problem or issue to use this Pine Tar Soap. Leaves no residue but a great smell. Skin feels totally "squeaky" clean. Use it for shampoo as well. Great for camping since you have soap and shampoo in one bar. Haven't used any other soap or shampoo for four years now. No gimmicks, just a great product.
