Aqua Nature Products
After the age of 30 it becomes increasingly important to top up the skin’s moisture levels, because it begins to lose its capacity to store moisture. Only well-hydrated skin can protect itself against wrinkles and retain its elasticity for longer. Aqua Nature– the perfect skincare range for age 30+ for skin that needs extra moisture.
Annemarie Lindner, as a beauty therapist, used natural ingredients successfully for her own skin problems as early as the fifties. Much has happened since then – but one thing has never changed: the innovational strength of the brand Annemarie Borlind – Natural Beauty.
Scientific Pioneering Spirit
They believe in the advancement of science to enhance their ground-breaking research in the field of natural cosmetics and skin biology and to develop new, state-of-the-art active complexes.
Innovative Research - High Tech from Nature
From the synergy of innovative research and a great respect for nature, Annemarie Borlind – Natural Beauty develops natural cosmetics products whose efficacy and skin-compatibility are scientifically confirmed by independent test institutes.
One example of their scientific pioneering spirit is their international research project in cooperation with Akott, an Italian research institute. Together, they studied the production and efficacy of stem cells from the Black Forest rose, and discovered their hidden potential. The result is two superior-quality and highly effective extracts that will at first be used exclusively in Annemarie Borlind products.
They proved their forerunner role in innovative and effective natural cosmetics as early as the seventies when, as pioneers in complete care systems, they brought an anti-aging care system range – LL Regeneration – on to the market before the subject had become popular. They also developed the first natural cosmetics product to contain ceramides similar to those in the skin. Their use of fresh botanical papyrus cells to strengthen the skin barrier and moisturizing botanical hyaluronic acid is also proof of their innovational strength.
They take their social responsibility seriously and are always driven to perfect what they do with feeling, whether in their products, dealing with their customers and suppliers, or working together with each other.
Global Commitment - Doing What They Do with Feeling
As a pioneer of natural cosmetics, Annemarie Borlind – Natural Beauty stands for social and ecological commitment. This has been demonstrated right up to the present day not only in their respectful treatment of customers and employees, but also in their careful choice of suppliers: ecological and ethical processing must be guaranteed, as must decent working conditions, fair pay and a rejection of child labor.
They also attach value to supporting projects worldwide, which express their philosophy in a special way. These range from an organic shea butter project in Mali that creates a fair livelihood for local families, to a school hostel in Bangladesh, right through to support of the “Roses not Opium” project in Iran.
Another important part of our raison d’être is their clear commitment to the company’s location in the Black Forest. This is where their company has its origins and this is where their production has taken place from the very beginning. Making their products in the Black Forest is part of their understanding of quality and also serves to safeguard jobs.
As a third-generation family enterprise, their family values are the foundation on which their company values are based and characterize their corporate raison d’être.
Responsible Handling of Natural Resources
They believe in the positive impact of the Black Forest on people’s awareness and, with this attitude to life, they are committed to the responsible use of resources and the protection of nature worldwide, in order to establish sustainable living.
Sustainability - Out of Respect for People and Nature
Right from the beginning they have rejected the use of extracts from dead animals in cosmetics. They are also against all forms of overexploitation of nature: to protect resources, Annemarie Borlind – Natural Beauty makes partial use of nature-identical substances – this means that threatened plant species are protected and not endangered further by commercial deployment. Whenever possible, they use plants from certified organic farming or wild harvesting. They also strictly omit genetically modified raw materials from their products.
Annemarie Borlind –Natural Beauty products are vegetarian, and they also offer vegan products. In exceptional cases, they use natural substances like beeswax, since these have special properties and cannot be obtained in any other way. Their vegan products are identified with labels on their packaging. Parabens and mineral oil derivatives (silicones, MOAH, paraffins) are, of course, omitted.
They don’t just talk about sustainability at their company site in the Black Forest either. They strictly implement it – whether it’s by means of outstanding energy efficiency, their use of green electricity or their “green fleet” which, thanks to state-of-the-art technologies, achieves reductions in emissions and fuel consumption.
Their raison d’être is also reflected in numerous distinctions for innovational developments and sustainable practices. Since 2012, they have been proud to be distinguished with the CSE (Certified Sustainable Economics) sustainability seal, which stands for responsible ecological, socially integrated and quality-oriented company management. This also includes the fact that more than 80 % of their workforce are women.
Their Deep Spring Water - Precious and Pure
Amid Black Forest roses, marigolds, red-hot pokers, damask roses, lavender blossoms, and many other plants, stands the Walter Lindner Well: from a depth of more than 160 meters, it produces pure, very soft Black Forest deep spring water. Unlike tap water, it is free of harmful elements. Chlorine and other chemicals, such as pesticide and herbicide residue, together with artificial hormones cannot be completely eliminated with conventional waste-water treatment. This is why their water comes from underground, original reservoirs. This naturally pure spring water is the ideal base for their skincare products.
Where Science Meets Nature
Outstanding skin-compatibility, plus efficacy that sets off natural beauty: these are the principles upon which Annemarie Borlind natural cosmetics have been based for almost 60 years. And during all that time, nature has always been their role model and source of inspiration. That’s why they respect and protect it – from the acquisition of their raw materials right through to the distribution of their products.
For example, with state-of-the-art production methods that are both gentle on their products and friendly to the environment, with ingredients whose ethical origins can be traced, and with their commitment to socio-ecological projects all over the world. The EcoControl certification body has also been confirming the high ecological standards of their cosmetics on a regular basis since 2008. See and experience how naturalness and sustainability go hand in hand at Annemarie Borlind.
Unmodified natural active substances, such as plant raw materials, come together with environmentally friendly cultivation and sophisticated production methods to form the basis of the high quality of their skincare products. When production that saves natural resources is called for, nature-identical and near-natural substances are deployed. They reject the use of any raw materials sourced from animals. Ingredients that are not easily biodegradable or may be potentially unsafe, such as PEG, paraffins, petroleum derivatives, silicone oils, and polycyclic musk compounds, can neither be reconciled with their claim to effective natural cosmetics, nor with their values. For this reason, they have made a conscious decision to omit them from their products.
When it says Natural on the Outside, There's also Sustainability on the Inside
Carefully selected natural substances and innovative formulas give their cosmetics their unique efficacy and good skin-compatibility. What is more, you can be certain that every one of their products has been developed against a backdrop of maximum ecological and social responsibility.
Effective Skin Care from Borlind Goes Beyond Fair Trade!
Ecological responsibility starts at one’s own front door – but for them, it doesn’t, by any means, stop there. With the targeted purchase of raw plant materials, they support numerous fair trade projects that use ecological cultivation methods, and environmental projects, all over the world. They see this as their contribution to the recovery of the earth and for a world that will also give coming generations a future worth living. For themus, sustainability is not a catchword, it’s part of their company philosophy.
Social Responsibility Doesn't Stop at Borders
In the Iranian province of Kerman, fine damask roses are grown in organic quality at an altitude of 2,500 meters. They bloom once a year, from roughly the beginning of May to mid June. The buds are carefully picked when they are still closed, and immediately processed into valuable rose oil and rose water in accordance with a traditional Middle Eastern formula.
The reason that this is so remarkable is that these areas were previously used to cultivate opium. They have already been supporting the “Roses not Opium” initiative – which, to date, has given around 600 farmers a new means of existence – for several years. Thanks to fixed supply agreements, they and their families have a secure income. The profits are also used to finance three orphanages and a women’s refuge.
Making Education Possible
Their social commitment is not always concerned with obtaining raw materials for their products. One example is in Bangladesh. Here, even the daily route to school poses a problem for many children. Long distances and a lack of transport mean that regular attendance is not possible in many cases.
Accommodation for the children and teenagers in hostels near the schools is therefore of great importance during the week. They heard about this and donated the money necessary to build a boys’ hostel. This means that it is now possible for boys from further afield to attend the school as well.
Beautiful Skin and a Healthy Earth
Whether it’s aloe vera from Mexico, shea butter from Mali, a school hostel in Bangladesh or their own herb garden in Calw, Germany: for them, cosmetics based on naturalness and responsible, sustainable behavior go absolutely hand in hand. They are therefore not only careful to choose suppliers who provide ecological substances of ethical origin, but who also offer decent working conditions, fair pay and do not use child labor.
You can be certain that all the Borlind products you purchase are highly effective, skin-compatible natural cosmetics that underline your natural beauty in a natural way. With every cream, lotion or serum you buy, you also contribute to saving resources, respecting nature and making the world a little fairer.
