Chef/Founder Neil Fusco grew up in a large family in Southern Italy where he took his first lessons in cooking from an experienced home chef – his mother. She taught him just how important meals are for bringing a family together, and she showed him how to use only the freshest, homegrown ingredients in every recipe. Those lessons have remained with him over the years and have shaped his philosophy as a chef. Food shouldn’t just taste good – it should also be good for the body and nourishing to the soul. And every family should have the choice to make those kinds of quality meals.
After the economic downturn, Chef Neil wanted to create a premium quality sauce at an affordable price for families on a budget. Using domestically sourced, vine-ripened tomatoes blended with a splash of the famous San Marzano tomatoes, Chef Neil created Monte Bene – the perfect, all natural pasta sauce for any meal or dish. Monte Bene pasta sauce is made with real tomatoes, no paste or puree, and does not contain preservatives, added sugar, or added water – just farm fresh ingredients at the right price for your family. Monte Bene means “Mountain of Good,” a phrase that defines the purpose of the Monte Bene brand – to do good for the Common Good. You aren’t just doing a good thing for your family when you buy Monte Bene pasta sauces; you’re also helping to give back to those most in need.
