Healing Your Lips & More with a Soothing Application of Vaseline
Perhaps one of the most famous personal care and beauty companies in the world, Vaseline makes lip therapy formulas along with its petroleum jelly and other products. Using petrolatum, they create healing balms for the lips which protect, soothe, and soften the skin. Additionally, these balms are completely hypoallergenic, so they won’t cause additional irritation like some chemical-filled conventional alternatives will. These products help to lock in moisture, keeping the lips naturally plumper and healthier.
Tints & Flavors make Using Vaseline Lip Protection Special
To make their lip balms and other soothing lip products, Vaseline triple purifies their petroleum jelly. This ensures that it’s very high quality and goes on smoothly and comfortably. Other lip formulas they create feature tints to make your lips look more vibrant and glamorous, along with smoothing and protecting them. Most of the products are flavored to make them more pleasant to use. Many of them feature pleasing scents, such as crème brulee, cocoa butter, or rose. These balms are made to beautify and intrigue as well as providing allergy-free chapped lip relief.
Vaseline’s Origins Stretch Back to the Pennsylvania Oil Fields
The story of Vaseline – both the product and the company – began back in the Titusville oil fields in 1859. Pennsylvania oil workers used petroleum jelly – then called “rod wax” – to soothe burns and minor injuries at work. Robert Augustus Chesebrough, a chemist, heard about this “rod wax” and researched it. In 1872, he patented the product “Vaseline,” a combination of Greek and German words meaning “water” and “olive oil.” It became hugely popular as a balm for irritation within a few years – as it continues to be today.
