Why Manuka Honey is a Supplement for Better Health & Wellness
Manuka honey is a very special, healthful kind of honey, whose flavorful, healing powers are at the heart of all Manuka Health’s creations. Manuka honey is made by bees who harvest the nectar and pollen of the flowering Manuka tree. This honey contains MGO, or methylglyoxal, a potent natural antibiotic and anti-inflammatory. It can be applied topically to help clean and heal minor cuts and wounds, and to ease aches and pains. It can also be eaten as a healthful food packed with antioxidants. The high quality, tasty Manuka honey offered by Manuka Health is useful for both.
The Adventurous Origins of Manuka Health’s Wellness-Boosting Honey
Manuka Health produces all of its products in the clean, fresh countryside of New Zealand, using the honey of New Zealand bees. They partner with landowners to put their hives in the remote, rugged yet lush landscapes where many Manuka trees grow. With lots of Manuka around, the bees gather that nectar in preference to other types. The company has 20,000 of their own hives, using helicopters in some cases to airlift bees into the heart of rich Manuka territory. They also source honey from local beekeepers.
World-Class Procession Results in Nutrient-Dense, Wholesome Manuka Honey
Manuka Health gathers and processes its honey products with great care to ensure their unique nutrients remain potent and intact. They subject all their honey and propolis to strict quality testing to ensure only the best reaches their customers. Carefully designed honey drums are used to store and transport the honey. At the facility, it’s filtered to remove debris, then gently creamed to make it velvety. It’s then tested, separated, and put in jars depending on the MGO content – a rating based on the milligrams of health-boosting MGO per kilogram of honey.
