How St. Dalfour Began
The First World War caused a serious shortage of sugar in France. The Kistner family, living in Aquitaine, owned vineyards, and the grandmother of the current owner of the company helped to overcome this lack of sweetness by using concentrated grape juice. This tradition has been carried on since 1984 by the grandson of that clever grandmother, Mr. Kistner. To this day, St. Dalfour does not use any sugar in any of their products, and uses only the finest ingredients in any of their recipes.
