Brewing It Right with Coffee Filters

There are many people out there who swear by their coffee. Some prefer a freshly brewed cup from specialty beans. If you’re one of them, you may find it irritating to keep scooping out the bits and pieces as you sip your coffee. Paper-based coffee filters can do a better job than conventional sieves, helping you avoid such annoying situations. They’re porous enough to let the liquid pass through and thick enough to sieve off the solids.

How to Find a Quality Filter

If you’re not familiar with coffee filters, you may end up getting stuck when faced with a bunch of options. You might want to look at filter thickness and size. A slightly thicker filter will run a better sieving process than a thin one. A large one will keep the solids from flowing in through the sides. Paper quality also matters a lot and so does the additives used in the manufacturing process. Our LuckyVitamin selection features non-toxic filters made from biodegradable material. We always insist that most of our products are eco-friendly, while plant-based derivatives should come from organically grown sources.

How to Use the Paper Filters

Start by folding the filter paper according to the instructions provided on the package. It helps to strengthen the paper against the water and coffee residue. You should end up with a funnel-shaped filter. You need to wet the filter paper with some hot water before running the filtering process. Add your favorite roasts to the paper in any desirable quantities. Pour in the hot water as you take stops to let the brew settle.
