DIY Coconut Sugar Scrub

Avoid chemicals and save some green with this easy DIY coconut sugar scrub. It sloughs away dead skin cells to reveal a healthy glow. It’s organic, free of parabens and sulfates and made with just a few items, most of which you probably already have on hand.

If you don’t have any white sugar handy, feel free to use brown sugar instead. Likewise, jojoba or almond oil make fine substitutes for the coconut oil.

Ingredients

8 ounce mason jar

1 cup of organic sugar

¼ cup organic coconut oil

6-12 drops of lavender essential oil

Directions

Add the sugar to a medium sized bowl. Add the melted coconut oil to the sugar and mix with a spoon until you arrive at a nice, fluffy consistency. Add your essential oil and transfer the scrub to the jar.

While this scrub has a shelf life of up to two months you’ll probably use it up well before then!
