I should have read the Amazon review before ordering this item. I ordered two because the price was low, and thought I can use them for my 3-year old to take his lunch to school. When I opened one, it was not easy to open the container itself. And the spoon was - really difficult to "snap off". It snaps on really tight. Because of the shipping I may keep them for myself to use but they are really not for kids. And please read the amazon reviews, some complained that once they put hot water in they cannot open the container at all.

I love the hot lunch taker. It is very convenient in size. Also has a built in spoon so you don't have to worry about taking silverware.
