Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between the Scuba and the Original?
Good question! The Original and Scuba are designed the same way with the large head and angled neck. The Original is made from a hard cellulose plastic and the Scuba is made from recycled rubber. The rubber gives the Scuba a "Flex-neck" which will reduce and alleviate pressure from hard brushers.
Why is the head so big?
The Scuba has such a large head because it's not your ordinary toothbrush…it's an entire MOUTHBRUSH! The wide massaging head helps reduce chronic bleeding and receding gums. When you brush your teeth, you want to include your gums as well and the Scuba makes sure that you're reaching your entire mouth.
What about the bristles?
It's all about the bristles. There are 300% more bristles than competitors and they have a non-aligned layout to avoid tooth erosion. The Scuba has soft, premium bristles that are spread evenly over the large head for even applied pressure. You won't be neglecting any teeth with the Scuba!
Can I purchase the Scuba with a medium bristle?
The Scuba is only available with a soft bristle.
Why does it look so different from every other toothbrush?
When you see the large head and angled neck…you know it can only be a RADIUS! The beautiful, award-winning design of the Scuba has a right or left ergonomic handle that ensures the dentist recommended 45 º angle of the bristles to teeth. The Easy-Grip Thumb and Palm design will reduce slippage while brushing and create an enjoyable brushing experience!
I'm left handed, can I use the Scuba?
Of course you can! You can purchase a right or left handed Scuba.
How long does the Scuba last?
The wear and tear of a toothbrush really depends on the user and their brushing habits. Take into account how often you use your toothbrush and if you're considered a hard brusher. The Scuba lasts approximately 3x longer than an ordinary toothbrush and can last up to 9 months.
Can I choose my colors when ordering a 3 pack or 6 pack?
If color is of importance, we recommend purchasing the Scuba at the single price level, this will ensure that you will receive a specific color. When purchasing a 3 pack or 6 pack, the colors will come in an assortment only. The packs are preassembled and color choice is not an option.
Will I receive 1 of every color in a 6 pack?
Color combinations are based upon inventory at the time of packaging. RADIUS cannot guarantee any color combination or that you will receive 1 of every color. Please note that you may receive double of a color in the assortment and colors are subject to change.
How often should I change my toothbrush?
This really is based upon personal preference. RADIUS recommends changing your toothbrush when the bristles start to lay over or fray.
How can I sanitize or clean my toothbrush?
The Scuba should not go in the dishwasher. The high temperatures of the dishwasher will melt the rubber handle. RADIUS recommends cleaning your toothbrush in a solution that is 50/50 water and hydrogen peroxide. Let the toothbrush sit in this mixture for approximately 10-15 minutes and then rinse thoroughly.
What do dentists and orthodontists have to say?
That's easy…they love RADIUS! The Scuba is American Dental Association "Accepted" for prevention of gingivitis and removal of plaque. The Scuba is also perfect for braces and is orthodontist recommended.
Is the Scuba safe to use?
Most definitely. RADIUS takes great care to make sure that we are manufacturing the best and safest products possible. As with all other RADIUS products, the Scuba is completely BPA-free.
Is the packaging recyclable?
The packaging for the Scuba is 100% recyclable.
