According to their business concept, they develop, manufacture and sell high quality, functional oral health products in cooperation with dental expertise.
The history of TePe - preventive dental care since 1965
TePe was founded in 1965 when wood-carver Henning Eklund developed a new kind of dental stick in cooperation with professors of the School of Dentistry in Malmö. The dental stick was triangular to fit the natural shape of the interdental space. Ever since then, TePe has focused on interdental cleaning and preventive dental care, stimulated by oral health research findings. In 1973, Henning's son Bertil Eklund developed the business by manufacturing the first toothbrush, designed with the characteristic user-friendly handle. Today more than 25% of all toothbrushes purchased in Sweden carry the TePe brand name. In the early nineties, the interdental brush made its entrance, as a result of thorough clinical research. It rapidly became our leading product as company growth seriously took off, increasing the turnover many times over in just a few years. In times of globalization, TePe has chosen to stay located where it all began, in Malmö, as an appreciated part of the local business community. It is still owned by the Eklund family. Headquarters and all production remain under the same roof for a reliable and flexible manufacturing process. TePe's close collaboration with the professional dental community has resulted in a growing number of efficient oral hygiene products, meeting the high demands of both professionals and consumers in over 50 countries all over the world.
Development and production - oral hygiene products for all needs
At TePe, the development of new functional products is a constant process, always in line with market requirements and scientific research. Their designers work closely together with our own team of dental experts and sales representatives to guarantee high standards. Each TePe product undergoes thorough quality control. TePe also takes an active role in the standardization of oral care products as they represent Sweden in the ISO (International Organization for Standardization) dental care committee, which has established the ISO size system for interdental brushes. In addition to the wide basic range for daily use, such as toothbrushes, interdental brushes and dental floss, TePe has developed a unique selection of products for persons with special oral hygiene needs, such as orthodontic, implant and periodontal patients. Their highly automated and effective manufacturing machines are working around the clock. They are constantly improving the production process with new technical solutions to assure the machines are safe and efficient. This is TePe in a nutshell; creating they own solutions, all under the same roof, enables us to be efficient and flexible. It is a concept rooted in our company’s long tradition, at the same time opening for creativity and progress in a hands-on manner.
Effective cleaning with your dental tape:
- Wrap the ends around your middle finger on both hands. Pull taut some centimeters between your thumbs and index fingers.
- Slide dental tape gently between your teeth to the gum line with back-and-forth movements.
- Move the dental tape back and forth between your teeth near the gum line very gently so as not to damage gum tissue.
- Remove the dental tape with back-and-forth movements.
