This toner does not sting the skin (even slightly) like other astringents do. I used to think that that meant it wasn't really "doing" anything and got sick of using it. I did not notice any immediate improvements, such as broken capillaries or red marks going away or other benefits I hoped for. However, it does do a good job of removing dead skin when used with a cotton ball, and I noticed that it leaves my skin looking soft and clear and clean when I remember to use it in the routine. So toning is not just an unnecessary step, much as it might sometimes feel that way. I also used it during a trip to London, where the city air leaves the skin (and everything else) with a visible fine black soot at the end of the day, and using the full Vegecol regimen kept my skin clean and blemish-free! <:)

If you can't handle toners with alcohol this is your toner. I kept trying other toners but always came back to this one. I have the sensitive redhead complexion.

This is a wonderful toner if you have sensitive, mature, or dry skin. It doesn't sting, yet it's effective at removing excess residue, dirt, or flakes. It's calming and soothing to my skin.
