Advanced Research Magnesium Orotate 500 mg. is a quality health care supplement product formulated by Hans A. Nieper, M.D. Orotates are mineral salts of orotic acid used by plants and animals to make DNA and RNA. Hans Nieper, a physician and dabbler in offbeat theories of gravitation, used orotates clinically before 1980 until his death in 1998. He thought that orotate salts, being neutrally charged, pass easily through cell membranes. In effect, orotate ferries the mineral atoms into cells and tissues, producing higher concentrations.

I am a Lyme disease patient. Lyme disease bacteria consume magnesium from the body, therefore I find Magnesium Orotate is useful for my muscle twitching as well as sleeplessness. I take it just the opposite of the usual recommendation: 2 magnesium to 1 calcium orotate.

as always with Lucky Vitamin the product arrived promptly in good condition
consuming at 1/4 of label recommended dosage for first week and at 1/2 of label recommended dosage in second week with no negative results; planning to go to full recommended label dosage and to maintain consuming that level
as this is subtle improvement if any we plan to discontinue consuming for a week to see if we can notice that we miss the benefit of supplementation and to start again at recommended label dosage if it appears that the regimen is beneficial

The pill form it comes in is hard to swallow.

I use this along with the Lithium Orotate to help me sleep and relax. I never have been a good sleeper. I have some health issues which affect my digestion and therefore nutrient absorption.

I cannot rate the magnesium orotate until I have tried it for a month or two. It takes time to feel the results.
