Farm To Table - Organic Whole Grain & Oatmeal Ancient Grain - 18.5 oz (524.5g)

Farm To Table Organic Whole Grain & Oatmeal Ancient Grain is made with organic oats, Kamut khorasan, spelt, rye and barley.  Many delicious and healthy ancient grains have fallen out of favor because they are too difficult to grow or just never caught on here.  But not being ones to let a challenge get in the way of breakfast, Farm to Table began experimenting with the grains like Spelt and Karmut, two grains that can be traced back to the fertile crescent.  What transpired in Farm to Table Organic Ancient Grain Oatmeal, and if we may say so it is no less than a textural triumph with rich, earthy undertones that touch on a culinary experience that had nearly been lost to the ages.  Farm to Table Organic Whole Grain & Oatmeal Ancient Grain is smooth, yet textured.  It is nutty, complex, and of course delicious.

How Serving Oatmeal Can Save the Planet
How does a product go from being served at breakfast to serving the greater good?  At Farm to Table, they believe in the farmer.  Good farmers mean good ingredients.  And good ingredients mean good, wholesome food.  If conscientious companies can get more delicious, sustainably produced food onto your table, the job of feeding your family will move away from big agri-business and move into the hands of farmers who care.

The Marvels of Oatmeal
Since the advent of agriculture some 12,000 odd years ago, mankind has been turning grain into porridge. It’s one of the purest, tastiest and most nutritious ways to enjoy what mother earth has to offer. As a company, Farm To Table believes that excessive processing is antithetical to what good food should be. By returning to less processed methods, utilizing recipes that bring out the natural goodness of each individual variety of grain in their “oatmeal,” and mixing grain with nuts, seeds or fruit for an irresistible taste and texture, Farm To Table has been able to create products that have introduced people to what real food should taste like. The way they see it, a hearty bowl of delicious oatmeal allows a person to enjoy earth’s bounty in its most elemental form. And for people looking to get back to food basics, what could be better?

A Good Food Movement

Farm To Table has found countless exciting product examples out there that promise a brighter future for our global community. But they’ve also noticed that much of what masquerades as “good food” is really the same old conventionally produced fare repackaged and reintroduced to an unsuspecting public. Farm To Table wants to declare their participation in the good food movement, that small but determined group of farmers, businesspeople, chefs, artisans, foodies and concerned citizens that have been making strides toward purifying the food supply by critically following it from it’s beginnings at the farm to it’s final destination at your table. (In fact that’s why they call themselves Farm to Table). At Farm to Table, they’re tremendously excited about this fresh way of thinking about food. Their goals are no less ambitious than getting the public to demand food brands they can trust and a food system that answers to the consumer instead of the stockholder.

Integrity

Farm to Table will not compromise its integrity. In a perfect world, people all over the country would be able to enjoy the bounty of their products. However, if expansion means neglecting their commitment toward the finest ingredients, or that they can’t afford to create products that meet big box store pricing strategies, so be it. They won’t be there. If necessary, they’ll remain a niche product for the select few who insist on top quality ingredients and a gourmet offering. But at the same time, they’ve noticed an interesting phenomenon. When people sample what oatmeal should taste like, they begin to demand it. And by raising the bar, they realize that they are also changing people’s expectations. And that’s a good thing. Because in Farm To Table's minds, their customers should expect more. They deserve it.
