Product of Thailand
To create this unique superfruit product, small-scale farmers in the lush tropical regions of Thailand select only the finest fresh red dragonfruit that is sustainably harvested from night-blooming cactus plants. Known as kaeo mangkon or "dragon crystal" to indigenous people of Thailand, Dragonfruit is famous for its unusual, eye-catching appearance. The soft, pulpy center of each Dragonfruit is speckled with tiny black seeds, and this fibrous sweet pulp is carefully removed in slices that are sun dried
The Dragonfruit has an unusually strong nutrition profile to match its bizarre appearance. This tropical superfruit is a source of omega 3 essential fatty acids, vitamin C, protein, fiber, magnesium, vitamin B, phosphorus and iron. Dragonfruit also contains many antioxidants including complex phytoalbumins and lycopene. It is a bonus that the fruit is low in calories, and it’s comprised of complex carbohydrates that can easily be broken down by the body.
Dragonfruit is a low-calorie food that has a well-rounded nutrition profile – and that makes it a true superfruit! It’s a great source of vitamins, including C and B, and it contains key minerals including iron, magnesium and phosphorus. Dragonfruit provides 2g of protein per serving, which is a lot for a fruit, and it’s also a rich source of essential fatty acids including omega-3.
Due to its high level of complex phytoalbumins, Dragonfruit is an excellent addition to your diet if you're looking to boost your intake of anti-inflammatory and antioxidant-rich foods. Decreasing inflammation can help reduce the risk of certain types of illnesses including hypertension, heart disease and arthritis. Dragonfruit is also a good source of lycopene, another powerful antioxidant. Antioxidants have been shown to protect cells from free-radical damage that can lead to illness. Dragonfruit Slices are a healthy food, not a miracle drug. Health claims herein have not been reviewed by the FDA. Navitas Naturals products are not intended to treat, diagnose, cure or prevent any disease.

What is a superfood?
The Oxford English Dictionary includes citations for "superfood" as far back as World War I, in the context of "a food considered especially nutritious or otherwise beneficial to health and well-being."
Below, is their definition.
A superfood is a nutrient-dense fruit or vegetable that contains a high content of antioxidants, protein, omega-3, minerals, fiber or other essential nutrients that have proven health benefits.
