Jyoti Natural Foods All Natural Mung Dal with Spinach can be made in different ways from traditional Indian style, Mung Dal Stew or Mung Dal soup.
Traditional Indian Style
Combine pouch contents with1/4 cup of water (or more as desired) heat and serve with rice, bread and vegetables.
Mung Dal Stews
Saute two cups of your favorite vegetable (Greens, carrots, bell peppers, mushrooms, diced onion, etc) or pan brown 1/2 meat. chicken or tofu cubes or, brown 1/2 cup water. Simmer 10 min and add water, salt, pepper and lemon juice to your liking.
Mung Dal Soup
Combine contents of this pouch with 1 cup of your favorite broth or water (50.50 : water/ tomato juice will make a good variation) and heat to create a light, nutritious soup.

However over the evolution of the cuisine, the Northern Indian cuisine, in particular, adopting more dairy products and fat in their preparations. However, as in most cultures, Indians too making a greater effort to keep the fat and salt content in their meals low. JYOTi Natural Cuisine was developed by Jyoti Gupta, a registered dietician with a long career in advising medical facilities on nutritional best practices. She adopted those same standards in the formulation of her own products: JYOTi foods are low in fat and salt content and contain only top quality, fresh ingredients, requiring no preservatives or artificial products to enhance their great natural flavor. For those with dietary restrictions, all JYOTi products are gluten-free, and a number of our products are dairy free, as well.
Are JYOTi products organic?
While they pride themselves on offering foods made with only natural and healthy ingredients, their products are not currently certified organic. However, their new organic JYOTi line has been under development and we expect to be taking it to market soon, so look out for them!
