Indigo Wild Frequently Asked Questions
Does Zum test their products on animals?
Zum does not test their products on animals. They love to test them on themselves and their friends and families.
What does Indigo Wild use as preservatives?
For the products that require preservatives, they use tocopherol (vitamin e), rosemary oleoresin and potassium sorbate.
Where does shea butter come from?
Indigo Wild's shea butter is extracted from the nut of the Karite tree in Africa. No solvents or hexane are used in this process.
What is the shelf life of your products?
Because Zum products are all natural it is best to use them up. Zum Bars that have been tucked away in a drawer and forgotten about are wonderful! The scent fades over time but it is still a great bar of soap. The lotions should probably be used within a year of the purchase date. Keep all products out of direct sunlight and heat. You can even put them in the refrigerator to extend their shelf life.
Does Zum have any vegan products?
Zum Glow, Zum Body, Zum Tub, Zum Mist, Zum Oil, eau de zum, ZAR aftershave tonic and roll-on cologne are all vegan products.
Do any of your products contain phthalates?
No siree. All Indigo Wild products are phthalate free.
Where did the name "zum" come from?
Zum is simply a play on the word "some". As in "This sure is "zum" bar of soap!"
Why choose ZUM®? Why choose Indigo Wild you may ask?
The people and Indigo Wild think there are many reasons, but for now they’ll give you three!
- Goat’s Milk is the main ingredient in Zum Bar soaps. It’s naturally ultra-moisturizing, naturally balanced for the skin, and naturally homogenized. The pH level of goat’s milk is very close to the pH level of your skin, which helps to moisturize and keep your skin’s oils in balance. Many soaps leave the skin too oily or too dry, but not with Zum Bar soaps because of the goat’s milk!
- Zum uses 100% pure essential oils in all Zum products. It’s that simple...just top shelf pure essential oils, oh, and also top shelf pure essential oils. They believe this is a perfect recipe to achieve a true aromatherapy product saturated with the most sensational whiff around.
- At Indigo Wild, they use two revolutionary contraptions during the Zum making process. They’re called hands! No machines, no robots and no conveyor belts! All of their products are manufactured by hand from start to finish. From Charley making soap, Gabby and Chris mixing, pouring, and whipping up fabulous products like rubs, oils, mists and glows to Barb who labels like a machine. And of course they can’t forget the lovely ladies that wrap all of the Zum Bars. So as you can see, Indigo Wild begins by using their own two hands and add that last piece of packing tape with their own two hands. It’s a handmade processing plant!
Pump oil into hand and apply or massage as desired.

About Indigo Wild
Indigo Wild’s not-so-secret ingredients: goats milk, glycerin, soy wax, shea butter, meadowfoam seed oil and pure essential oils for whiff. This company runs from bad ingredients like artificial surfactants (synthetic foaming agents), petrochemicals, glycols and parabens. And they take a pass on animal testing – the only animals they test are boyfriends, girlfriends, husbands and wives. What we're saying is, there's a lot that goes on behind indigo wild’s shower curtain before any products go behind yours. At Indigo Wild, there's more than meets the whiff.
