For those individuals who do not eat an oily fish diest, Carlson offers Omega-3's in easy-to-swallow soft gelatin capsules. Carlson Elite Omega-3 Gems contain 1250 mg of a concentrate of fish body oils from deep, cold water fish which are especially rich in the important Omega-3's EPA and DHA. This product is regularly tested (using AOAC international protocols) for freshness, potency and purity by an independent, FDA-registered laboratory and has been determined to be fresh, fully potent and free of detrimental levels of mercury, cadmium, lead, PCB's and 28 other contaminants.
What is Omeaga -3 Fish Oil?
Oil from fish contains eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA); both are omega-3 fatty acids.
Where is Omega-3 Fish Oil Found?
EPA and DHA are found in mackerel, salmon, herring, sardines, sablefish (black cod), anchovies, albacore tuna, and wild game. Cod liver oil contains large amounts of EPA and DHA. Fish oil supplements typically contain 18% EPA and 12% DHA, though more purified (i.e., higher in EPA and DHA) fish oil supplements are sometimes available. In addition, DHA is available in a supplement that does not contain significant amounts of EPA.

This company has pure, potent omega oil products. This product has optimal EPA vs DHA ratios. The chewable option is if-fy for those people that don't care for fishy tastes, but you can swallow the softgel cap easily with no fishy after-taste. The Super Omega large size is a slightly better buy, but you can take fewer caps daily with this product. Read cautions carefully about contraindications with drugs; also, the added vitamin E usually has soy-based ingredients, check with the company before taking this if you are very sensitive to soy.

Worked great! My doctor prescribed extra DHA/Omega-3's during my pregnancy, and this seemed to help with my mild depression. I also noticed that my nails & hair were shinier- extra bonus!
I like that it is tested for mercury & other contaminants- very important!

If you compare all the fish oils and look at the EPA and DHA content you'll find these far exceed the rest. Lots of fish oils say 1,000 mg or 1200 mg, but when you read the label there might be as little as 160 mg of EPA and 180 MG DHA. This product is the best on the market. It costs a little more but it is so worth it. You have to take a handful of the others to get what you'll get in 4 of these capsules. We got my husband's triglycerides back to a normal level in 6 months. His cardiologist was shocked!
