Raw cocoa beans are dried and roasted, then they are cracked, and the "nibs" (the center of the cocoa bean) are ground. Using a hydraulic press, the cocoa butter is extracted, leaving a dense, rich, and bitter substance called chocolate liquor. Despite the name, this substance does not contain any alcohol. After drying, the chocolate liquor is ground into powder form. This is unsweetened chocolate. &:" ": business. Sunspire Grain Sweetened Chocolate Chips have been part of my diet for over twenty years! I do not eat sugar but still have a sweet tooth. This product contains NO SUGAR OR SUGAR SUBSTITUTES like Splenda or NutraSweet or other well known products. Barley malt metabolizes so much easier, does not affect blood sugar, and is as gentle to the body as it comes. These are wonderful to add in yogurt, eaten on their own, or added to a favorite smoothie. LuckyVitamin is an excellent supplier and offers free shipping on this excellent product when purchased in bulk.
Great product for diabetics!!
BEST CHOCOLATE CHIPS EVER!!!! As my family doesn't consume any cane sugar, these have been a great substitute for the more traditional childhood cookies. My 8 year old loves them, and I love that they have a lower glycemic load than the average chip.
Love them...I use them all the time for baking protein bars and other stuff requiring choc. chips. They do not taste the same as Nestle so don't be fooled if you eat them on their own.
look forward to baking with
Does not have the strong flavor of regular chocolate but does have something of and an initial burst of flavor and is not nearly as sweet, which is what I wanted. I chop it and mix it in small amounts with unsweetened cocoa powder.
I needed a chocolate product without sugar. This actually tastes like chocolate, melts like chocolate and meets my needs.
well, this product definitely has a unique flavor, it does not tast like chocolate at all. On it's own it does not taste very well but mixed with sliced bananas it's an awesome sweet treat, I actually purchased this product to make protein bars but I have not accomplished that yet...!
I purchased this item, as it's getting more difficult to find locally. I've had them before and use them primarily is low-sugar baking with crystalline fructose due to my health issues. I will undoubtedly buy them again, when I run out.
The only place I could find this product was here on LuckyVitamin so I ordered enough to take advantage of their free shipping offer and stored the extra in the fridge. the product is awesome for you Clean Eaters out there! No sugar, and the fudge that my wife makes using this, some natural peanut butter, and a hint of vanilla is to die for! The item is spot on in terms of what you think you are getting - something healthy (relatively speaking) with NO sugar!!
