What Is SAMe?SAMe, or S-Adenosylmethionine, is a substance synthesized from methionine (an amino acid) in the body. Children have seven times more SAMe than adults. An exogenous (produced outside of the body) form of SAMe was developed in the mid-seventies.
What Does SAMe Do?SAMe is a "methyl donor," playing a key role in the methylation process in the body. Methylation is a basic chemical reaction that triggers many vital biological responses throught the body. SAMe, as a methyl donor, donates methyl groups to different molecules. SAMe helps methylate DNA, protein, and phospholipids. SAMe, through a process called transulferation, helps the body's cells produce glutathione, an essential compound for the immune system and the live, where it helps int he important job of detoxification.
Suggested Use
Clinical studies show that supplementation of 400mg (or 2 tablets) a day is effective for most people. Different levels of supplementation may be beneficial to some people. Please refer to SAMe's package insert for more information.

Do not use if blister foil is punctured or appears in any way to have been tampered with. Keep out of reach of children. If you are currently taking prescription anti-depressants, consult your physician before using SAMe. If you suffer from bipolar (manic) depression, do not use this product.
