Carlson Right For Cholesterol Plant Sterol Concentrate 400 mg

Carlson Right For Cholesterol Plant Sterol Concentrate is a product containing at least 400 mg of plant sterols per serving, taken twice daily with meals for a daily intake of at least 800 mg and as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease. A daily serving of Carlson Right for Cholesterol provides 850 mg of plant sterols. This Plant Sterol Concentrate has an improved formula, and is now made with Sytrinol.

Plant Sterols And Cholesterol
Foods and beverages supplemented with plant sterols/stanols may reduce cholesterol and are a promising addition to interventions aimed at lowering heart disease risk. Maximum effects are observed at plant sterol/stanol intakes of approximately two to three grams per day. The level of LDL cholesterol reduction ranges between six to 15 percent. A growing body of scientific evidence also suggests other positive health outcomes that include the reduced risk of certain types of cancer.

What Are Plant Sterols?
Plant sterols and stanols are phytosterols—essential components of plant membranes—that resemble the chemical structure of animal cholesterol and carry out similar cellular functions in plants. Sterols are present naturally in small quantities in many fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, cereals, legumes, vegetable oils, and other plant sources. Stanols occur in even smaller quantities in many of the same sources. Cholesterol can be obtained from non-dietary sources through processes in the human body such as liver synthesis and intestinal absorption. Plant sterols and stanols differ from cholesterol in that they can only be obtained through dietary sources. Including plant sterols/stanols in the diet may lower blood cholesterol levels: a health effect that has been studied for more than 50 years.

What Is Sytrinol?
Sytrinol is a strong-acting complex of highly specialized flavonoids, called polymethoxylated flavones (PMFs), and tocotrienols for multifaceted lipid and triglyceride support as well as overall cardiovascular function. Sytrinol provides general antioxidant protection, helpsmaintain a healthy immune response in the aterial vessel walls, and promotes healthy blood flow.

Sytrinol has the potential to act as follows:
  • Maintain healthy liver microsomal triglyceride transferprotein (MTP) activity and diacylglycerol acetyltransferase (DGAT) liver enzyme activity, both involvedin the pathway of triglyceride synthesis.
  • Support healthy PPAR activity (a receptor in the liver),enhancing ß-oxidation and moderating the concentrationof fatty acids available for the synthesis of triglycerides.
  • Maintain healthy structural protein formation responsiblefor endogenous lipid production.
  • Promote healthy liver enzyme activity involved inlipid biosynthesis.

What Is The Source?
Sytrinol is a patented, proprietary formula derivedfrom citrus (primarily orange and tangerine) and palmfruit (Elaeis guineensis), providing PMFs and tocotrienols, respectively. Vitamin C (ascorbyl palmitate) is derivedfrom corn dextrose fermentation and palm oil. Hypoallergenicplant fiber is derived from pine cellulose.
