The DietMinder Personal Food & Fitness Journal is so easy to use it hardly needs and instructions. But if you take a few moments to review the tips in the begining of the journal, it will help you get the maximum benefit.
It's a good idea to have a separate handbook containins food counts for foods without labels and also for those foods not already listed in the back of the DietMinder.
The DietMinder consists of three sections. The cream-colored pages make it easy to differentiate between these sections which are listed accordingly in the Table of Contents.

I like the HealthMinder better for me now. But, I did use this one when I was diagnosed with SEVERE allergies. (I was allergic to 99 or 144 things tested). It was a help to see exactly what I ate and how much nutrition I was getting. My diet was so limited, this was useful. Now that I'm much better, the HealthMinder is better for me. I like these books and so did my doctor.
I am using this book during a 90-day effort to track food and lose weight. The layout of the book is excellent, especially the section in the front where you write out your goals and measurements. I also appreciate the "favorite foods" section in the back where they've provided nutrition info on common foods and also left space where you can add foods you frequently consume. What has been most beneficial to me is seeing how much I consume of various nutritional components of food such as fat and sodium. If you have a smart phone, there are many apps to track the same information, but for someone like me who doesn't have a smart phone and prefers to track on paper, it's a priceless tool.
