Crudoleum shampoo is a good follow-up to intensive crude oil based hair and scalps treatments (i.e. Edgar Cayce method) or can be used alone as an everyday shampoo. My boyfriend and I have used this shampoo for years with some degree of satisfaction and some degree of disappointment. On the down side, it has not really thickened my fine hair nor has it helped to regrow hair where my boyfriend's hairline is receding. Some people may experience thickening and regrowth just from the shampoo, but we have not. On the up side, it's GREAT for dandruff and dry, itchy scalp. It has cooling peppermint oil in it that soothes the scalp and gives it a refreshing tingle. It may not live up to all claims, but my boyfriend and I both feel that our hair looks healthier and more glossy when we use it. Bottom line: we have found few shampoos that can rival this one in terms of the scalp soothing effect and real dandruff relief - and it really does give our hair nice sheen.
