MAXelence Muscle Recovery Supplements Frequently Asked Questions
Are all Maxelence products Non-GMO?
Sammi says NO to GMO. All MAXelence products meet European Standards which are far stricter than testing for IP (identity preserved) US Certification. They have been trying to educate consumers about the dangers of Genetically Modified foods both to health and ecology for 15 years. The Maize fiber MAXelence uses comes from France.
What is D-Ribose?
It is a five carbon monosaccharide that is produced by the body. It is critical at the cellular level for the production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate). ATP is the compound that muscles including the heart need for all physical activity. Strenuous exertion or stress uses ATP faster and therefore recovery is based on Ribose being available to replace ATP.
The process of cellular energy production and recovery takes longer as we grow older, because the body produces less Ribose as they age, so it takes longer to recover and muscles tend to remain sore for a longer time. It might be a stretch to call D-Ribose the secret to youth, but the fact is it is a clinically proven muscle recovery supplement and is even being injected into heart attack victims by ER Doctors.
D-Ribose shows on the Facts Panel as sugar, but it has a negative glycemic index and does not raise blood sugar levels.
What does it mean when minerals are chelated?
The minerals they use are proven to be in the most bio-available form. A chelated mineral means it is wrapped with an amino acid, which in effect presents a protein to the body with a mineral attached. A body may only be using 5% of the total amount ingested of mineral like calcium or all important Magnesium, while the Patented Magnesium Amino Acid Chelate will have a 98% absorption rate.
Does MAXelence use all natural vitamins?
Yes, MAXelence vitamins are extremely high quality and high potency.
Is MAXelence Vegan?
No not technically, because MAXelence does use the highest quality natural vitamins. Vitamin D3 is Cholecalciferol which is derived from Lanolin which comes from sheep wool. They do like to point out the animal is not killed in the process of shearing.
What is Stevia?
Stevia is a health promoting non-caloric high intensity sweetener made from the leaf of an herb.
Why doesn't MAXelence use natural flavors?
The Natural and Artificial flavors MAXelence uses are derived from the natural flavor. Consumers are usually misled by this labeling term. A flavor termed an N&A flavoring by the maker means that the flavor has been processed to remove components that detract or take up space, leaving the flavor concentrate or essence.
In other words an N&A Vanilla flavor is made from vanilla beans but does not contain everything in the bean including impurities. The flavor in fact is more consistent, cleaner and allows more room for the more important things like minerals and vitamins. If for example MAXelence uses a Natural Flavor by labeling law definition in their serving of 5 grams they either have to lower the content significantly of other things such as Ribose or minerals in order to allow for the much larger amount of the total weight occupied by the natural flavor as opposed to the N&A version.
The reality is there is nothing un-healthy about the N&A flavoring MAXelence choose. There is a good argument that the N&A flavoring is even healthier, because it is pure and they use a lot less of it. With that said there are some retailers who insist on all products being all-natural, so they intend to be converting their flavoring away from N&A to natural designation choices in the future. MAXelence will likely just increase the amount of product per serving to accommodate this change. This is unfortunate since in their opinion, the N&A is the best choice for the product.
Does MAXelence use Organic ingredients?
Sure they do when it makes a difference in quality, nutrition or purity. The ingredients in MAXelence are not available with Organic Certification and it would make no difference except in price. They are in favor of better growing practices, but not consumer exploitation and sometimes Organic is a word that provides an excuse to simply charge more. MAXelence thinks the GMO issue is far more important than being Certified Organic. Remember the far majority of totally organic crops in the world are not certified and would not change if they were.
Does MAXelence contain any chemicals?
Sure it does, so does a carrot or an apple. What is important is they are all good for you in the amounts contained and consumed. For example mushrooms all contain a natural chemical that can cause death, even the healthy ones that help you relax. Trouble is others contain so much of it, they relax you too much and you die. Even mother's milk contains things that can kill you in large amounts. MAXelence is formulated with a conscience and is a safe, healthy energy drink for muscle recovery for anyone 9 to 90, or 100 for that matter, and having it with its minerals and other compounds/chemicals in your diet can promote health and long life.
What is Bitter Orange Extract?
It is a compound made from orange peelings and works synergistically with Ribose to help make ATP and also to convert fat stores in the body to energy. It is also called Citrus Arantium and is frequently and incorrectly considered to be a stimulant. Bitter Orange contains P-Synephrine which is not the same thing as N-Synepherine found in Ephedrine. One of those things like water being H2O and Hydrogen Peroxide being H2O2 pretty similar looking, one molecule different. One you drink, one you don't. There was a petition circulated in New York and signed by thousands to ban dihydrogen monoxide because it was responsible for thousands of deaths. The fact is, of course, that that is plain old water, which you can drown in. Bitter Orange Extract is one of those wonderful health promoting ingredients that is sometimes on a list of prohibited substances because of misinformation. It does not contain the form of Synepherine you want to avoid, MAXelence uses it because it makes their product better without stimulants.
What is Prebiotic Fiber?
The Maize Fiber MAXelence uses helps you feel full pre/post workout and gives you a feeling of satiety when working out or working, so it is easier to stay in shape. And at the same time, it is a form of fiber that is pH-balanced and provides an environment for probiotics cultures to thrive in the digestive system. This lets you absorb nutrients and promotes gut health.
Why does MAXelence use Citric Acid?
It provides a pleasant citrus taste and helps mask the awful tasting minerals and vitamins. It also has digestive benefits in combination with the acid absorbing fiber.
Is there any danger in drinking MAXelence?
There is no Taurine or caffeine or sucralose or aspartame found in diet drinks and other energy products. The reason most of the other energy drinks on the market have been banned in some European countries is that people were drinking too much and having fatal reactions to the buzz creating stimulants. There is payback with any stimulant because it depletes energy at the cellular level without replacing it the way the body was made to produce energy. MAXelence will increase energy without any side effects and is safe for kids. It will not create hyperactivity or dehydrate and is a great electrolyte replacer.
