Biotics Research Bio-K Forte Caps - 60 Capsules
Biotics Research Bio-K Forte Caps is a combination of vitamin K1 and vitamin K2, targeting different tissues in the body. Bio-K Forte Caps blends two forms of Vitamin K. K1, known as phylloquinone, and K2, known as menaquionone, target different tissues in the body, ultimately contributing to cardiovascular benefits including aiding in the prevention of vascular calcification, a major complication in cardiovascular disease. The current daily reference intake for vitamin K may be undervalued with recent research showing that it may be too low to meet daily physiological needs. In addition, approximately 60-70% of the daily dietary intake is lost via excretion. Therefore, the need for a continuous dietary supply is pertinent to maintain adequate tissue reserves of this nutrient. Bio-K Forte Caps supply 688% of the daily value of vitamin K as both K1 and K2 in a natural whole food base.
Why you may need Bio-K Forte Caps: A fat soluble vitamin that was first isolated and synthesized in the late 1930s, the so named Vitamin K is a short form of the name Koagulationsvitamin given by Danish researchers in reference to its role in blood clotting. Vitamin K plays several key roles in the body. In addition to being one of the first substances given to newborns to prevent hemorrhage, vitamin K is also involved in normal bone calcification, aids in the conversion of glucose to glycogen, and assists healthy cardiac and liver function, as well as providing immune system support. In addition, high temperatures, diarrhea, or antibiotic use may deplete stores of vitamin K producing bacteria that line the GI tract. Individuals who rely on low fat, high protein diets or diets high in processed foods, may not have adequate vitamin K levels. Vitamin K deficiency can be difficult to recognize as frequently the only outward symptom is bruising or vascular fragility – people may first notice this as pool-like bruises on the hands and arms or dark circles under the eyes. Heavy menstrual periods or bleeding of the gums may be associated with vitamin K deficiency.
Why your healthcare practitioner recommends Bio-K Forte Caps from Biotics Research: There are two key forms of naturally occurring vitamin K. Phylloquinone (precursor phytonadione), also known as K1, and menaquionine, referred to as K2. The K1 family of compounds is synthesized in plant leaves and leafy green vegetables whereas K2 is commonly derived from animal or bacterial sources. It is interesting to note that while similar, each form of vitamin K targets different tissues. Believing that vitamin K is best supplies as a combination of K1 & K2, Biotics Research is please to introduce Bio-K Forte Caps. Each capsule provides ideal, broad spectrum support, and supplies 550 mcg of vitamin K (as phytonadione and menaquinone in a 10:1 ratio). While the current daily reference intake (DRI) is established at 90 mcg/day for adult females and 120mcg/day for males, research indicates that given the high rate of excretion (~60-70%), these values may be too low to meet daily physiological needs.

Quality Control - What Sets Biotics Apart
The Biotics Research way!
At Biotics Research Corporation, we manufacture our own branded products on site, in our own state
of the art facilities, allowing for complete control of the entire manufacturing process. In our on-site
laboratories, the highly skilled members of our Quality Control Unit, utilize modern, sophisticated technologies
and validated analytical methods to test incoming raw materials, monitor manufacturing processes, perform in-
process testing, and test all finished products prior to their release for shipment. In fact, many aspects of our
cGMPs (current Good Manufacturing Practices) exceed the new, recently enacted FDA guidelines for dietary
supplements in order to ensure the safety and effectiveness of our products.
The Quality Control Unit (QCU) has the authority to approve and/or reject all specifications and procedures
associated with the production and release of all raw materials, packaging materials and finished products,
including test methods and results, instrument calibrations, and processing records. The QCU conducts all internal
audits, and validates and audits all raw material and packaging suppliers and service vendors as well.
All incoming raw materials are subject to appropriate testing prior to their release for production. Tests
conducted include identity, potency, biological activity, microbiological, including bacteria, yeast and mold
(including aflatoxins) and heavy metals (arsenic, cadmium, lead & mercury). Retained samples are maintained of
all raw materials and finished products for future testing requirements (raw material stability and finished
product expiration date verification).
All bulk finished products (tablets & capsules) are inspected and subjected to metal detection
prior to being sampled by QC. They are then subject to appropriate disintegration and/or dissolution testing, and
potency testing prior to being released to packaging. All liquid and powder products are tested for potency prior
to packaging as well. Finally, microbiological testing is performed on all finished products and document
reconciliation is completed prior to being released for shipment.
All testing is performed by our trained QC personnel using state of the art laboratory instrumentation including
High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), ICP, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AA), gel electrophoresis, FT
-IR, Ultra Violet spectrophotometry, Thin Layer chromatography and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-
Unlike many companies that are struggling to meet the new GMP requirements established by the FDA, companies
that are being regulated into implementing quality programs, extensive Quality Control has always been part of the
