    Manuka Honey
As we all know, honey is not manufactured in a lab. It's made by bees that gather nectar from flowers who then add enzymes to it to produce honey. Some people think that all honey is the same. This is untrue. The fact is there are many different types of honey that are harvested from around the world.  The differences are predicated on the floral nectar component. The color, flavor, texture and medicinal qualities of honey can vary based on which flower the bees gather nectar from.

Manuka honey is derived from the nectar found in the flowers that grow on the Manuka plant (Leptospermum scoparium), indigenous to New Zealand. These are small white or pink flowers with long protruding stamen that grow abundantly across a countryside that is virtually unaffected by pollution. It is this nectar that makes Manuka honey as special as it is because it contains certain phytochemical compounds not found anywhere else in the world.

Bee farmers in New Zealand strategically place their hives in areas that only have Manuka plants so that the bees have no other floral source to gather nectar from. Traditionally, honeybees don't travel more than a two mile radius from their hives because their wings get tired. This is how they ensure the honey produced is unadulterated and monofloral.

Manuka honey is a rare type of honey because the Manuka flowers are only in bloom for about 6 weeks out of the year. That gives bee farmers in New Zealand about a month and a half to harvest as much of it as they possibly can. Out of all the Manuka honey that is produced, only a small portion of it is bioactive.

Not all Manuka honey is the same. Some batches are more potent than others, depending on how much of the floral nectar is used by the bees that produce it. The only way to determin the phytochemical strength of Manuka honey is to perform a laboratory test to measure these levels. A medium range is best for most uses (i.e. active 10 - 16).

In addition to Manuka honey's many accolades, it also tastes great. In fact, some people even prefer the flavor of Manuka honey over other types of honey. Its texture is different than other types of honey as well. Since Honeymark's Manuka honey is raw and unprocessed in order to preserve its natural goodness, it looks more like a melted caramel rather than the clear, amber color that ordinary honey has.

    Honeymark brand Manuka Honey is:
    • Imported from New Zealand
    • Laboratory tested for phytochemical potency
    • Bioactive
    • Raw and unprocessed
    • Unadulterated, unpasteurized, pure and monofloral

There are many benefits to using Manuka honey, both internally and topically on the skin. Manuka honey also contains more vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants than other types of honey. This unique type of honey is becoming world renowned for its many benefits and it is estimated that the level of consumer interest will continue to increase in the future. As Manuka honey continues to become the most sought-after honey in the world, Honeymark will continue to bring its natural goodness to U.S. customers.

Manuka Honey benefits are being recognized by consumers and health care professionals around the world. Honeymark is the premier supplier of Manuka Honey products in the U.S. When considering where to buy Manuka Honey, Honeymark's customers choose their skin care products over pure Manuka Honey because they aren't sticky and contain other valuable ingredients. Manuka Honey cream-based products are a lot more user-friendly than dealing with the messiness of using pure honey directly on the skin.

People who buy active Manuka Honey know that it works amazingly well. Honeymark's Manuka Honey skin care products work in situations where other products have failed.

    Why use Honeymark products?
The main reason is because they really work. Product efficacy is extremely important to Honeymark and, above all, Honeymark wants their customers to recognize the quality that goes into our formulations. The term "Natural" is one of the most misused and misinterpreted words in Honeymark's industry. When Honeymark says that they use natural ingredients, they mean that they are produced by living organisms, such as plants. Honeymark uses these ingredients because they are safe, healthy and have phytochemical and biological activity that provides medicinal value to their products.

Other manufacturers use synthetic or chemical-based ingredients because they are less expensive than plant-derived, botanical ingredients.  This helps to improve their profit margins. Honeymark has a different philosophy. Honeymark believes that if we produce high-quality products that actually work really well and are good for you, more people will want to use them. This seems like a simple concept but there are still millions of people who use products ever day that contain toxic and questionably unsafe ingredients.

Honeymark affectionately refers to their corporate office as, "the Hive". Here they have professionals on staff waiting to answer any questions you may have about the unique qualities of Manuka honey and Honeymark's products. Feel free to contact Honeymark's friendly staff if you have any questions about how their products work or if you are unsure which of their products would be most appropriate for your application.
