To provide the best-tasting, most effective energy foods out there while keeping their responsibility to the planet close to heart in their business practices.

About Honey Stinger
An entrepreneur, a honey industry veteran, a food products developer and a beekeeper make up the team that created Honey Stinger energy gels and bars. A few years ago, these four, armed with research touting honey as an excellent source of carbohydrate for athletes, combined their skills and experience and developed a natural, honey-based energy gel. Today, that product is available in specialty outdoor retail, natural foods, running and bike shops across the country. Honey Stinger is popular with athletes from all manner of sports and the company sponsors events, athletes and teams across the US.

About Honey Stinger

In 1954, Ralph and Luella Gamber developed the EN-R-G Bar ("EN" for energy, "R" for Ralph, and "G" for Gamber). They wanted to provide an alternative to the candy bars available at the time. Their plan was simple: natural ingredients, great taste and (since Ralph was a beekeeper) HONEY. They also introduced two ounce packets of honey with the words "quick energy" printed on them. Ralph's friend, Roy Phillips, head wrestling coach at F&M college, used these packets to provide quick energy for his athletes.

Although Ralph and Luella knew they were on to something, the market was not quite ready for energy food. We thought it was about time to bring the bars and gels back. In 2002 we re-established EN-R-G foods, Inc. and started producing Honey Stinger energy food. We had the same simple plan in mind as Ralph and Luella did then: to provide effective honey-based energy foods that taste great are are made with natural ingredients. We know Ralph and Luella would be proud.
