Weleda Baby & Child Calendula Diaper Rash Cream - 2.8 oz. (81g)

Baby’s diaper rash gets instant relief with Weleda Baby & Child Calendula Diaper Rash Cream. Weleda Baby & Child Calendula Diaper Rash Cream is a barrier-forming natural diaper rash cream. Weleda Baby & Child Calendula Diaper Rash Cream provides gentle, effective relief and protection for delicate skin that’s tender from a distressing diaper rash. Weleda Baby & Child Calendula Diaper Rash Cream is a natural diaper rash cream that is formulated with soothing calendula flower extract, breathable beeswax and zinc oxide.

Zinc oxide in Weleda's Calendula Diaper Care takes nurturing care of irritation and rashes and protects your baby’s skin with a natural barrier. Redness and inflammation are soothed with Biodynamic and organic calendula flower extract that wraps your child in a layer of comforting warmth, like a loving hug. Instead of yucky petroleum that can irritate delicate skin, Weleda Baby & Child Calendula Diaper Rash Cream contains beeswax that smoothes away dryness and adds a breathable layer of protection to your baby’s precious bottom. Diaper boo-boos go bye-bye with natural Calendula Diaper Care, leaving behind calm, supple skin that’s smooth as a … well, you know.

Everything is gentle, especially in the diaper area.
Delicate baby skin often reacts in the diaper area with irritation, redness and rashes. Moisture and warmth cultivate germs that irritate gentle skin. The natural ingredients in Calendula Baby Care protect from moisture and germs without affecting the skin’s ability to perspire and breathe.

What is Calendula, and why does Weleda use it in their Baby Care products?
Calendula, also known as Marigold, is renowned for its comforting, soothing and antibacterial properties. Weleda’s Calendula is grown organically and biodynamically and is harvested by hand in the Weleda Medicinal Plant Gardens in Europe. As a result of the gently nourishing and warming properties of this flower, it is ideal for use on babies, children and all other delicate and sensitive skin types.

    The Story of Weleda
It all goes back to 1921 and something called anthroposophy. This movement, stemming from the teachings of philosopher Dr. Rudolf Steiner, encourages the individual to see his or her body, mind and spirit as intrinsically linked to the world; all part of one holistic system.

And so Steiner, along with Dr. Ita Wegman, got together with a team of dedicated scientists and doctors to determine just how they might use this philosophy to take care of their patients' needs. They understood that a human body has a remarkable ability to heal itself, but sometimes it needs a little help. So they developed a personal approach to health care using natural ingredients that can holistically work with and support everybody's healing tendencies.

They started by creating one of the world's first Biodynamic gardens to grow what they needed. Sound new agey? It's actually old agey - what cultures around the world have done successfully for generations.

It was successful for the founders too. Patients were healed, wellness and balance were restored to them, and never once was a synthetic chemical or lab-made preservative used in the process.

The company's new name couldn't have been more appropriate: Weleda, after the Celtic goddess of wisdom and healing. Soon, word got around about the innovative, effective work Weleda was doing and the company spread from Switzerland, to Germany and into North America and the world. Today they're proud to have offices and partnerships in more than 50 countries.

And yet despite their success, not a whole lot has changed. Weleda still cultivates their own Biodynamic gardens. They still believe natural ingredients truly provide what a body needs to be vibrant, beautiful and well. They still put the health and well-being of you above all else. And they continue to grow, spreading our passion for beauty, wellness and environmental respect around the world.

    Weleda's Philosophy
Weleda sees beauty everywhere. It's in the soil that is tilled, the flowers that are grown, the built partnerships that honor the human spirit and respect the natural world.

But their mission isn't just to recognize beauty. Their mission is to actively cultivate beauty. They do it with Biodynamic farming methods. They do it by developing fair trade partnerships for a more positive impact on the world. They do it by empowering the individual to make positive change in the world.

And of course they do it with meaningful products that work with a body's own natural vitality and ability to nurture and heal.

Weleda strongly believes in supporting health and beauty, and that of every individual. By doing so, they hope all will be empowered to cultivate beauty in the world. For generations to come.

    Lofty goals? Absolutely.

    Weleda's Promise

    • To delight the senses with products that are gentle and effective
    • To create vital relationships among customers, fair trade partners and their own team
    • To ensure the quality of their products and programs
    • To actively protect ecology and steward conservation
    • To continually invest in research and development to continue to cultivate beauty around the world

    Growing Their Products
It starts with soil. Beautiful products start with beautiful soil. Weleda keeps chemicals and pesticides out of their Biodynamic gardens, because the quality of the soil will reflect the quality of their products. Even their partners seek out the most gentle, safe farming methods available.

    The Harvest
Because life nurtures life, all plants are processed immediately after they're harvested. Weleda's dedicated farmers work with great care to clean the roots, peel the bark and hand-select the best blossoms and leaves. Some plants are kept whole-to treat the whole being-while others are separated into components like roots, seeds, leaves or fruits, each to care for a specific skin-care or medical need.

    Nourishment Released
Grinding, squeezing or cutting fresh ingredients releases their nourishing properties while they're most active and aromatic. They then combine this active plant blend with a solution such as organic alcohol or spring water to create an organic extract called a tincture. A tincture carries an “imprint,” or life message, of the plant, and herbal or mineral tinctures are powerful enough to have been used around the world for centuries to treat medical needs.

    Weleda's Mission
Weleda stimulates and inspires your body, soul and spirit. In doing so, they encourage your own vitality and discover inner balance. This enables individual health and authentic beauty to unfold.

    Weleda's Culture
It's not a very complicated equation; happy people do better work. So people work hard at Weleda making sure everyone working at Weleda is happy.

They know that creating wonderful products aren't mutually exclusive to fostering a respectful workplace, promoting creativity and taking a personal interest in those who work with them. Weleda encourages personal development outside the office. They serve free organic cappuccinos, celebrate birthdays, prompt staff to use their generous vacation time. It's not surprising to see new parents at work with their children by their sides.

They've also created a unique social structure that makes every team member feel greater ownership of the company and more connected to one another. And to make sure everyone feels valued, they make sure to keep communication channels wide open. After all, brilliant ideas can come from anyone.

    Where Beauty Begins
People at Weleda are farmers. They're up to their elbows in dirt, obsessing about weather reports and analyzing the pH of the rainfall. Not exactly the image that comes to mind when you think of a beauty company, but then, Weleda's not your average beauty company.

At Weleda, beauty isn't something that's made in a lab; it's something that's cultivated right from the earth. Carefully. Lovingly. And certainly without pesticides or chemicals. Those things aren't beautiful.

For nearly 90 years now, they've demonstrated that nature can nurture and the earth can heal. And so they grow organic roses encouraging glowful youth. They gather golden arnica blossoms to tend to bruises and sprains. They harvest acres of Biodynamic calendula for the comfort and health of newborn babies-and to inspire confidence in their cautious new parents.

Weleda may plow and harvest 135 acres of Biodynamic gardens around the planet. But what they cultivate, really, is beauty.

I love this diaper rash cream. Nothing comes close to it in terms of prevention and treatment of diaper rashes. My son has extremely sensitive skin and this works great for him. This is our second baby using this cream, the first never had a diaper rash! I highly recommend it!

It's the best diaper cream I've ever used. I tried many brands because my baby has sensitive skin and I believe it's important what I put on his skin since it's absorbed into his body eventually anyway. I've had the best experience of Weleda products and since my baby turned 1 months old, I've been only using this diaper cream. It's gentle and effective. I love it!

A little thick but this cream absorbs into skin after some rubbing. I use it as hand cream in the winter.
