As a company that has been at the forefront of children's health and safety issues, Green Sprouts is continually researching ways to make safer baby products.
In 2003, Green Sprouts discovered the dangers of phthalates, which are used to soften rigid plastics such as PVC for use in many baby items. In 2006, Green Sprouts learned of concerns about BPA (bisphenol-A), which is used in hard, clear plastics like polycarbonate baby bottles to prevent breakage. Phthalates and BPA have been shown to disrupt reproductive functions and cause other developmental problems. All Green Sprouts products have been phthalate free since 2003 and BPA free since 2006.
Suggested Use
Feeding:
- Clean thoroughly before use.
- After filling bottle with desired amount of liquid, tighten bottle collar firmly.
- Pull on nipple before each use and look for tears. Dispose of nipple if it shows any signs of tears or breakage.
- Do not shake bottle. If using formula stir gently to dissolve lumps that may clog nipple holes.
- Keep your baby propped up rather than lying down during feeding.
- Clean after use.
Cleaning
- Clean all parts before use and immediately after each use.
- Always use clean hands and surfaces.
- Fully disassemble all parts before washing. Wash in warm, soapy water.
- Do not clean with solvents or harsh chemicals. Avoid use of abrasive cleansers.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean, clear water.
- Nipples only: Sterilize by boiling for 5 minutes, before first use and weekly to maintain cleanliness.
- Allow to dry completely before reassembling.
Warnings
- Do not heat plastic or add hot liquids to plastic bottles to avoid leaching.
- This bottle and its components are not toys. Do not allow child to disassemble parts.
- Nipple should never be used by itself as a teether or soother.
- Do not allow child to suck on empty bottle; this can result in your child swallowing air which causes pain and discomfort.
- To prevent a possible choking hazard, inspect parts regularly and replace immediately if signs of cracks, tears or excessive wear appear.
- To avoid injury, do not allow child to walk or run with bottle.
- Do not put child to bed with bottle. Prolonged contact with liquids (even unsweetened liquids) may cause severe tooth decay.
- Do not use with carbonated beverages. Pressure can build up inside bottle and cause leakage.
- Keep all packaging away from children.
- Never leave child unattended.
