Organic Lemon Yerba Mate Tea by Traditional Medicinals
Maté is traditionally used in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay as a daily stimulant beverage,* like tea or coffee. Drinking maté promotes alertness* due to its naturally occurring caffeine content. Clinical data shows that beverages with caffeine help to restore mental alertness to those experiencing fatigue.* Our yerba maté comes from the beautiful Guayaki Rainforest Reserve, located in the Mata Atlantica rainforest of Paraguay.
How does it taste? A pleasantly aromatic balance of citrus notes on top of the slightly astringent, smoky and bitter characteristics of maté.
For maximum benefit, medicinal tea must be properly prepared. Pour 8 oz. hot water (freshly boiled but no longer bubbling) over one tea bag in a ceramic cup. Cover cup and steep 5-10 minutes. These steps directly influence the amount of beneficial components that will end up in your teacup! Gently squeeze the tea bag to release any remaining extract. Add sweetener if desired.
Drink 3 or more cups daily. For an extra strength brew, use two teabags or brew up a whole pot using four or five teabags.
Pregnancy and lactation: Consult your pre- or post natal healthcare provider prior to use.
Organic green mate leaf 1,300 mg. Proprietary blend: organic West Indian lemongrass leaf, organic lemon myrtle leaf (Backhousia citriodora).
