Kal Betaine HCL + - 250 Tablets

Betaine-HCl is a delivery form of Hydrochloric Acid. The combination of Betaine-HCl & Pepsin intended to provide digestive support. Kal Betaine HCL + is ideal for use after meals high in protein.Betaine hydrochloride is an acidic form of betaine, a vitamin-like substance found in grains and other foods. Betaine hydrochloride is recommended by some doctors as a supplemental source of hydrochloric acid for people who have a deficiency of stomach acid production (hypochlorhydria).

Betaine HCl is the most common hydrochloric acid-containing supplement. Normally it comes in tablets or capsules measured in grains or milligrams. Only people who have reduced levels of stomach acid (“hypochlorhydria”) should take betaine HCl; this condition can be diagnosed by a doctor. When appropriate, some doctors recommend taking one or more tablets or capsules, each 5–10 grains (325–650 mg), with a meal that contains protein. Occasionally, betaine (trimethylglycine) is recommended to reduce blood levels of a substance called homocysteine, which is associated with heart disease. This form of betaine is different from betaine HCl.

By JANICE (San Diego , CA )

A very good and effective product. I ordered it because my other bottle of Betaine HCI has 650 mg. For a protein meal, and for my needs, one capsule is not enough, but two is too much. Therefore I ordered Kal Betaine HCI which has 328 mg., and the combination of one of each is just right. I rarely have heartburn these days, now that I am using Betaine Hydrocloride to replace the acid which my stomach no longer seems to produce in enough quantity to digest protein.

After eating protein this enzyme goes into action. I'll take it after a protein shake or protein meal along with my other enzymes. After 40 years old we all need to think about enzymes.
