Burdock Root by Nature's Apothecary
Burdock Root (Arctium lappa) is a biennial herb indigenous to Europe and Asia that can now be found growing throughout North America. You may know it as cocklebur, hareburr, or gypsy rhubarb. Considered a hearty weed by gardeners, Burdock is a popular culinary herb used in a number of Japanese dishes, and as a traditional herbal remedy. The root of this herb contains a number of health-promoting constituents, including flavonoids, glycosides, mucilage, inulin, and more. The alkalinizing minerals found in Burdock Root explain its historical use as a blood purifier. Burdock is considered an excellent whole-body cleanser and detoxifier.
