Calendula grows as a common garden plant throughout North America and Europe. The golden-orange or yellow flowers of calendula have been used as medicine for centuries. Calendula flowers were historically considered beneficial for reducing inflammation, wound healing, and as an antiseptic. Calendula was used to treat various skin diseases, ranging from skin ulcerations to eczema.1 Internally, the soothing effects of calendula have been used for stomach ulcers and inflammation. Traditionally, a sterile tea was topically applied in cases of conjunctivitis.
St. John’s wort is found in Europe and the United States. It is especially abundant in northern California and southern Oregon. The above-ground (aerial) parts of the plant are gathered during the flowering season. n ancient Greece, St. John’s wort was used to treat many ailments, including sciatica and poisonous reptile bites. In Europe, St. John’s wort was used by herbalists for the topical treatment of wounds and burns. It is also a folk remedy for kidney and lung ailments as well as for depression.

Purémedy, LLC has been around for a few years, but their secret formula has existed far longer. Joseph Piquette, the owner's great grandfather, taught the family how to craft the healing salve a hundred and fifty years ago after a nearly fatal leg infection and third degree burn was miraculously healed by using it. Purémedy has since created 17 products, each tailored to treat skin conditions both gently and naturally. The ingredients are pure enough to eat, as owner Joan Siegel has (on more than one occasion) demonstrated, choosing 100% organic or wild-crafted, food grade ingredients for her specialty salves. 10% of the profits are tithed to organizations that promote healing for the planet. The testimonials are incredible and the line has quickly gained a loyal following in many stores, clinics and doctors offices all around the country.

Using it for my 7lb rat terrier. She's allergic to grass and gets rashes and sores. I can rub it over her belly w/out worrying about her licking it off as it is food grade w/no fragrance
VERY nourishing to my dry/mature skin. Changes consistency at different temperatures which is fine, just be prepared for the liquid oil when you open the jar when it's warm. I will continue to buy this because the ingredients list is as simple as can be with skin-nourishing herbs and oils.
