Body Bio E-Lyte - 20 oz. (591 mL)
Body Bio E-Lyte is a dietary supplement that cleans and replenishes the blood by balancing the essential electrolytes, which is vital. Electrolytes drive all muscle function from the blinking of an eye to the wiggling of a finger. E-lyte Balanced Electrolyte Concentrate is a dietary supplement that may be used for mineral balancing, preferably as a preliminary approach to nutritional support. There are no sweeteners or calories in E-lyte. The taste will be salty initially, but will become milder after use, indicating your body’s change in electrolyte balance.
E-Lyte balanced electrolyte can help:
- Cramp no more!
- Reduce the harmful effects of stress
- Rejuvenate the muscles
It can replace electrolytes lost as a result of:
- Poor Diet
Why You Need Electrolytes
Cramping is one of the most common complaints of athletes. It can occur at any time but more often at the tail end of their workout. Cramps are a one way street in the complete cycle of muscle action. All body motion is controlled by the opening and closing of ion channels that sit in the membranes of all cells. Sodium (Na) contracts the cell and potassium (K) relaxes it. Similar action occurs to transmit a thought with Na and K triggering neurons (depolarizing) to both transmit and fire. In effect the electrolytes do it all. You can’t blink your eye or even see or hear without them.
A heart cell begins the process with Calcium (Ca) signaling the Na ion channel to open to begin the contraction cycle. There are hundreds of Na and K ion channels on each cell. A half second later Magnesium (Mg) encourages K to rush in which relaxes the cell. That’s the beat of your heart or the closing of your fist. With a heart cell the cycle is non stop; constrict with Na and relax with K. Its quite easy to see what happens when a muscle cramps. In essence you have half a beat. If a cramp hits your heart, you’re history, but in a different muscle you’ll hurt, but recover. If you’re swimming in a race half way home, it could be a disaster. Whenever it happens, it’s the guys in charge of the relaxing half of the cycle, Mg and K, that are missing.
Often, athletes who are pushing the envelope sense a tingling of sorts, in say a leg muscle, before it tightens. A swig of ElyteSport could be a G-D send at that moment because it contains a high concentration of both K and Mg. " I don’t cramp any more!” They hear this from their elite athletes. All of them also say that they last longer. They don’t see an improvement in performance or time, but they are able to stay at a strong performance rate for a longer time. Body Bio would argue that if you can train longer, the logic would be that you would also increase muscle mass, or improve the flow of nutrients to a more efficient level, which, over time makes you stronger and better. Actually, what is happening, is that the high K concentration is sufficient to complete the back side of the heart beat, or leg pump, etc. Without those 2 electrolytes Mg and K, in plentiful supply, your muscles have only the first half of the action potential to work on. Over time, that’s a one way street, that can end up as a cramp. Cramps don’t usually occur when your doing sprints, they are the result of cellular stress (loss of electrolytes) over long workouts. What ElyteSport does is make sure that you have enough K and Mg to complete the back side of the muscle pump.
A number of coaches have tried “pickle juice” to prevent cramping in hot weather. Pickle juice is predominantly vinegar. Vinegar is acetic acid, and is used to remove sodium (Na) with individuals with high blood sodium levels. The coaches are lowering their athletes Na levels to prevent the first half of the muscle cycle instead of making sure that they have enough of all the electrolytes needed. Lower Na and you may not begin the cramp. Not exactly what the doctor ordered, but it can work. However, you are removing Na to restore balance, instead of providing the correct electrolytes that the body needs at that moment, which is ... Mg and K. Training logic says that you want as high a level of electrolytes as possible, all the time, not robbing one, Na, to achieve balance. ElyteSport is perfectly designed to address the problem of cramping, and very possibly, the big one after that, and that is the potential loss of an athlete that could not handle the extremes of temperature and high performance workouts. If you're in training, a coach, or a trainer, you owe it to yourself and your athletes to check out ElyteSport.

E-Lyte Questions & Answers
What is E-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate used for?
Balanced Electrolyte Concentrate cleans & replenishes the blood by balancing the essential electrolytes, which is vital for proper CNS (central nervous system) and muscular function. Not only balancing, but constantly adding, in cases of fatigue and poor metabolic function, such as muscle cramps in legs and feet. Electrolytes drive all muscle function from the blinking of an eye to the wiggling of a finger.
What are the ingredients in E-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate?
E-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate is a proprietary blend of purified water with 3 macro minerals: potassium, sodium, and magnesium & their chemical partners: phosphate, chloride, bicarbonate, and sulfate.
What kind of purified water is used in E-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate?
The water used in E-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate is first passed through 2 filters, then through a large GE Reverse Osmoses filter, then another filter, then ultra violet purifier, then a deionizer, and finally another filter. Additionally, there is another filter, as well as a UV filter, just prior to packaging/filing. Water is their business and they are dedicated to providing the very best that is possible to obtain. That is the water that is used for all E-Lyte Electrolytes and BodyBio liquid minerals.
What is the recommended dosage of E-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate?
The recommended dosage of E-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate is 1/2 and ounce of concentrate to 8 oz. of water, or 8 oz. into 1 gallon of water or milk. Drink an 8 oz. serving 1-2 times daily, or as directed by your physician or HCP.
How long will 1 bottle of E-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate last?
There are 40 servings in one 20 oz. bottle of E-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate. One bottle makes 2, 1/2 gallons of finished electrolyte drink. One bottle will last for approximately 20 to 40 days.
What can E-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate be mixed with?
E-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate can be mixed with water or milk. Milk provides Calcium, the last of the important macro electrolytes. You can also pour 2-3 capfuls of concentrate into already cooked soups, broths, stews, or any food you'd normally add salt to. Do not cook with E-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate, as the heat of cooking tends to reduce the magnesium content. Add it in after cooking.
Can E-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate be mixed with Gatorade or other Juices? Why/Why not?
Many sports drinks and most fruit juices can carry a strong acid pH, which changes the pH of E-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate and is best not to be used together. The high sugar content precipitates (removes) the alkaline macro minerals out of the solutions before the body can use them. Plus, it doesn't seem to taste right. You generally would not salt fruit drinks.
How does E-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate differ from E-LyteSport?
E-Lyte Sport was designed for athletes and has a higher sodium content for high performance, since athletes tend to use up electrolytes rapidly during intense activity.
About Body Bio
In 1995, Ed and Patricia Kane, Ph.D. began to develop a medical software program that would produce a list of required nutrients based on an individual’s blood chemistry results. Dr. Kane created the database, which links nutritional deficiencies to a person’s blood chemistry/CBC and red cell fatty acids, and provides recommendations to correct those deficiencies (The BodyBio Report). The product took the form of a service to doctors providing them with an evidence-based means of nutritional supplementation. The BodyBio Report is based on the research of Dr. Patricia Kane and her unique background of over thirty years of clinical research, practicums with individual leaders in metabolic intervention, as well as her experience in private practice in the field of nutritional biochemistry. BodyBio has used this pioneering research to provide nutritional diagnostic reports to healthcare practitioners around the world. These unique, in-depth reports bring into focus those nutrients that a patient’s body may require, based upon documented research and the patients’ individual blood test results. The BodyBio report has proven invaluable in assisting healthcare practitioners and researchers worldwide in providing medical care guidance as well as preventative care options for their patients.
To dilute, mix 8 oz. in 1 gallon water or milk (3 capfuls per glass). Drink an 8 oz. glass of solution twice daily or as directed by a physician. Pour 2-3 capfuls of concentrate into cooked soups, broth, pastas, and stews or in any food normally salted.
This is a high sodium hypertonic solution. Those with high blood pressure or on restricted sodium diets should consult their physicians prior to use. Balanced Electrolyte formula is a physiological solution which can be used for mineral balancing preferably as a preliminary approach to nutritional support.
